Alan, it's been a long time. Hearing from you and seeing that you're still around really does makes me happy. You've always been a good man, so I hope life's been good to you over the last, what, eight years?
There's something funny about speaking plainly to an Admiral, it reminds me of early in my career. [She grins, but only very slightly.]
Ahem...that's enough of that though, I don't mean to be too informal.

Last eight years? Ten almost? I lost count. Can't complain, but you and I both know how it is for people like us and how fast it can all get too much too fast. I hope your time away has been good to you too. But we can talk about that later.
Also, did Olson metnion something among the lines of "Voluntary and purely voluntary"? Yes? Good, bause I knew that would work.
It's really good to see an old face and old friend again Rachel. There's quite a lot to catch up on, and quite a few things to do.
I'm just back from a meeting in Virginia and I can't stand the idea of the office or another official meeting on my time off.
