SUBJECT: Employee Report - on standby
Greetings, Chief Executive Officer.
I wanted to use this opportunity to introduce myself personally and thank you for giving me the opportunity to provide you with my services. I have arrived on Pittsburgh and familiarized myself with the company premises and its surroundings, as well as the office space.
Furthermore I have already requested and received access to all necessary documents to perform a routine check up of the company's legal situation. Over the next few days I will be checking current business contracts, so expect reports to come in gradually.
Most important however; I have officially begun my duties and from here on out are on call should you require my advice in specific legal matters.

Mr. Ashwood,
I like a man who gets straight to business. As it happens, I do have work of a legal nature for you. I was going to sound you out at the orientation, but I believe you'll want something to break your teeth on before then.
In short, I need a report on our latest legal standing with the Crayter Republic. How you acquire one is up to you, but for jeb's sake, do not offend these people. We may be doing business together, real soon.

[20.03.834] Material deliveries to Susquehanna.
Orbital Spa and Cruise advertising catering - didn't take them up on the offer due to ion storms. Hyrax from Mahantango reported a Lane Hacker sighting - our own sensors were blind. Ran afoul of an LPI cowboy during a systems reset, sent them an explanation after the fact. Still no fallout from that front - guess they were satisfied.
[21.03.834] Supply & material deliveries to Susquehanna.
Un-moored with Hyrax at the same time, a hard worker. Visited Space Market Center - no competition there according to the cargo chief. Traveled to Honshu for an Optronics order - ion storms picked up half-way through. Susquehanna dockmaster forbid me to unload upon return - man needs to mind his manners.
[22.03.834] Supply & material deliveries to Susquehanna.
Ion storms still plaguing systems, no resets this time. Ran into another Williamson, a Freelancer. Contacted OS&C Beefmaster with some catering offers, told me to check the public net. Seemed to be suffering from ion storms as well - might be something about Cortez.
[23.03.834] Material deliveries to Susquehanna.
Jawed with an LSF pilot - enlightening conversation. Offered a retainer, but they naturally declined, heh. Them's worried about the Outcasts, and somewhat about Hackers and Rogues. Will need another sec assessment. Ran into Hyrax again, towards the end of our shift.
[24.03.834] Material deliveries to Susquehanna.
More hauling - getting mighty tired of the route, but it has to be done. Hyrax on scene to support the op again, grand. Flew to Bretonia to look into MOX contracts - decent prices on Belvedere. BAF seemed to be running some kind of maneuvers. Spotted a Gaian gunship on the way back, but they ignored me and a junker transport - can never tell with these loonies.
[25.03.834] Copper mining OP.
Heard from Davis in Brennan that they needed another transport in the field. Looked like some youngster set up the op, and was willing to share the goods for a cut - works for me. Had White in Allegheny, and some Zoner whale. Didn't look like the Zoner have anything against Libertonians, so I gave them temp access to offload. Our new firebrand in Lapidary providing escort - no action for them though, just the way I like it. Talked to White about some next moves - Ontario, eh?
[25.03.834] Copper convoy.
Went for a break and came back on shift after refinery finished chugging. Immediately saw a suspect Corsair-id'd transport with some weird hold readings. Told him to keep his distance - good thing we invest in the PDCs. Joined by Hyrax in Mahantango and Lapidary as escort. Heard some kind of preacher over the comms - you can always rely on some weird crap in New York. All quiet besides that, to Lapidary's disappointment.
[27.03.834] Susquehanna resupply and another Copper convoy.
Started another convoy from Susquehanna when Hyrax came on shift. Almost immediately, Lapidary got their wish - a Rogue gunship disrupting the Cali lane in NY. Ordered Williamson and Allegheny to support, but Lapidary called us off. Proceeded to Norfolk and sent some Navy their way - but it turned out it wasn't necessary, as Lapidary rejoined us without any additional fuss. The crew earned their hazard pay, right enough. All's quiet the rest of the way. Kruger reps at Breuninger admitting to running low on stock, and begrudgingly pointed us to Swift's. Took the Kusari route back - just some freelancers on the way.
[WEEK 1 SUMMARY] POOR MINER INCENTIVES ACROSS TWO SEPARATE LOCATIONS, MORE INFO NEEDED ON THIRD
Boss, the job was easier than I expected. Me and the Wayfarer basically waltzed right in, requesting a top-up. While our tanks were getting filled, I got to chatting with the dockmasters. Both Freeport 26 and Impala are offering a measly 30 credits per unit of ore. It's no wonder their warehouses are empty - I offered to find buyers for the refined product, but they said not to bother.
Freeport 12 is now a relic. I recall some comms about its decommission, so I guess that's a done deal.
There is one more station which may be a competitor however. The folks at Ionic Labs seemed to see through my ruse, and told me to go pound sand. It may have had something to do with the DSE transponder - I wonder if I'd get a warmer welcome if I came back in an unmarked hull. We could always vet a freelancer and send 'em off to snoop around too - your call.
I'm returning to Cortez to keep an eye on the ops. I heard that Pine-1 did good during the last call-out - should encourage some of my own slackers.

[28.03.834] Enemy at the Gate
We had a mining operation that day. I just escorted one of the trasports back to Susquehanna when picked up a hostile contact approaching from the California's JumpGate. It appeared to be a cruiser of unknown type, piloted by a Rogue. I realized the transport won't have enough time to escape, so I had to engage. Gladly, my colleage Pine-1 arrived just in time to support me. We analized the wreck and it appeared to be a Hessian cruiser. How did it end up here?..
[31.03.834] Naive in the extreme
Outside of mining operations, I usually patrol Cortez space. This day a Corsair transport came in from the Manchester, carrying illegal cargo. I managed to persuade him to turn back. To my surprise, around 20 minutes later, the same transport exited the lane from Curacao. The pilot must have smoked too much and was broadcasting some nonsense. I didn't believe a word.
[01.04.834] Quiet trip
Another copper convoy successfully escorted to Rheinland and back through Bretonia. Almost no vessels were met: only a single ship, supposedly Freelancer, blinked at the edge of the scanning range. [DSE]-Williamson paid the bonus in full.

[OPERATION SUMMARY] TWO LIFTERS SUFFICIENT, PROCEEDING SLOWLY UNDER CLARION'S WATCH
Mr. Rolf, I am happy to report that the relocation is underway as I write this report. After some minutes of careful set-up, myself in Gasket and a colleague in Sprocket, I ensured the tensile strength of the catwalks. Clamping near the A and C terminus, we simultaneously applied thrust. The station remained whole, with no overt hull breaches or structural integrity warnings of any kind.
My recommendation is that we thrust at minimal power for the following 10 hours, crew to work in shifts. After the completion of the op, I will personally lead an EVA to perform a comprehensive structural inspection.
The Clarion is providing security for the op, and assures us that they'll be able to remain on station for its full duration. My shift is coming up in 15 - I will provide regular updates as time permits.
[03.04.2024 16:57:33] [DSE]-Gasket: It's time to earn our pay
[03.04.2024 16:57:47] [DSE]-Sprocket: Heya, indeed how do you want to approach this?
[03.04.2024 16:58:03] [DSE]-Gasket: Let's take it nice and slow
[03.04.2024 16:58:10] [DSE]-Gasket: Try the critical junctures first
[03.04.2024 16:58:19] [DSE]-Gasket: But if there's any stress, we pull back and re-assess
[03.04.2024 16:58:27] [DSE]-Sprocket: Sounds good, looks like all of the debris from that eyesore has been cleared out, so won't have any hassel there.
[03.04.2024 16:58:43] [DSE]-Gasket: Yes, no work for us there, heheh
[03.04.2024 16:58:54] [DSE]-Gasket: I think we'll start with the "catwalks" near A and C
[03.04.2024 17:00:01] [DSE]-Gasket: All right, all set on this end
[03.04.2024 17:00:14] [DSE]-Sprocket: I'm ready, clamps are attached.
[03.04.2024 17:00:20] [DSE]-Gasket: Increase thrust on my mark

[03.04.2024 17:00:54] [DSE]-Sprocket: Connection steady.
[03.04.2024 17:00:54] [DSE]-Gasket: this should do the trick
[03.04.2024 17:01:04] [DSE]-Gasket: pull back for now
[03.04.2024 17:01:21] [DSE]-Sprocket: Clamps undocked.
[03.04.2024 17:01:31] [DSE]-Gasket: We'll get this done nice and slow, over the next 10 hours or so
[03.04.2024 17:01:47] [DSE]-Gasket: Can probably be done faster, but we aren't getting paid for a quick finish, if ya know what I mean
[03.04.2024 17:02:05] [DSE]-Sprocket: Yeah, best to take it careful, god forbid this went south. I dread to think how many years it'd take to pay off those damages.
[03.04.2024 17:02:46] [DSE]-Gasket: Ah, Clarion. Stay on scene while we do the job if you will
[03.04.2024 17:02:53] [DSE]-Clarion: Roger.
[03.04.2024 17:02:59] [DSE]-Gasket: would be very unpleasant for someone to happen by and interrupt
[03.04.2024 17:03:19] [DSE]-Clarion: Indeed. I'll keep an eye on the surroundings.
[REPORT SUMMARY] POSSIBLE COLLUSION BETWEEN DSE OPERATOR AND PIRATE, THE LATTER FORCIBLY REMOVED
Howdy Boss. Not the most pleasant report today.
Got called out after a hauler reported suspicious activity in the vicinity of the station. Found a pirate trans and a DSE lifter on scanner. Seemed to be flyin' together, and the lifter filled up with a bunch of mods for a pre-fab. So I told the pirate asshole to beat it, all the while chattin' with some Imperial folks and their escort. You know, can't have people thinkin' DSE is openly associatin' with pirate scum.
Funnily enough, the pirate stays put, and the lifter starts gettin' mouthy about the corp, Susquehanna, and god knows what else. So I gave them a clear ultimatum - the pirate trans gets to more than 15K away, or I disable and tow it. It was like their captain never heard it. So I'm chattin' up the Imperial shipper, apologizin' for the lack of copper (best refill that asap by the way), and the timer runs out. So I thrust up and start blowing them engines, and the funniest thing is that the crook doesn't event move. Just lets me disable their ship as easy as that.
Boss, I've got a bad feeling about this one. These people are either tryin' to do some kinda false flag, or maybe they're those sovereign citizen types. Either way, they think they've got enough dough to plop a prefab right near Susquehanna. Now I ain't squeamish about shooting who you say, but if these folks continue identifyin' as DSE, not much I can do without the newsies cookin' up a shitstorm. Which reminds me, here's my comms, that can be backed up by that Imperial shipper and the escort.
[19.06.2024 00:48:32] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Howdy there folks
[19.06.2024 00:48:40] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: Evenin'.
[19.06.2024 00:48:48] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Main.1, mind explainin' why you've got a pirate on your ass?
[19.06.2024 00:49:00] [DSE]-Wayfarer: I'll get to you in a sec big fella
[19.06.2024 00:49:01] Main.1: Not on my ass, actually helping, busy, thanks
[19.06.2024 00:49:22] [DSE]-Wayfarer: So you sayin' you're colluding with pirates, eh?
[19.06.2024 00:49:27] Main.1: Sure
[19.06.2024 00:49:29] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: Doubt I can pirate much in this beast.
[19.06.2024 00:49:45] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Don't much care what you can do with it
[19.06.2024 00:49:56] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: Likewise yours, then.
[19.06.2024 00:50:01] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Don't understand why supposedly DSE honest working folks are even talking to you
[19.06.2024 00:50:21] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: And I already know why you're talking to us.
[19.06.2024 00:50:44] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Listen here fella. Whatever it is you two are plannin', you can do it elsewhere
[19.06.2024 00:50:44] Main.1: The fact he's a pirate is irrelevant, he's done no harm and will do no harm. Seriously.
[19.06.2024 00:50:56] Main.1: No thank you.
[19.06.2024 00:50:58] Main.1: I'm busy.
[19.06.2024 00:51:01] [DSE]-Wayfarer: I ain't gonna have a clear pirate hanging around this here station
[19.06.2024 00:51:14] Main.1: I don't care about that station right now, thank you.
[19.06.2024 00:51:27] [DSE]-Wayfarer: If you folks had a few more brain cells to rub together, you'd change your transponder to Freelancers
[19.06.2024 00:51:52] [DSE]-Wayfarer: I don't want no trouble from a passing navy or Crayter patrol
[19.06.2024 00:52:06] [DSE]-Wayfarer: So you're gonna clear out from scanner range big fella
[19.06.2024 00:52:18] [DSE]-Wayfarer: That bein' 15K away
[19.06.2024 00:52:24] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Understood?
[19.06.2024 00:53:11] [DSE]-Wayfarer: So, whaddaya say Touka? Eh?
[19.06.2024 00:53:30] [DSE]-Wayfarer: 15K away, or I do my best to disable your vessel and call for a tow?
[19.06.2024 00:53:44] Main.1: This guy is really after it.
[19.06.2024 00:53:57] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: You're still here? Look, you wanna shoot a random train sat in space near a base-construction ship, feel free.
[19.06.2024 00:54:02] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Chief, your name is already going in my report. Best not make anything worse
[19.06.2024 00:54:13] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: Not like I can fire back.
[19.06.2024 00:54:18] Main.1: Scratch my name off of any list you have, thank you.
[19.06.2024 00:54:29] [DSE]-Wayfarer: That's right. So just clear out, and we won't have any trouble
[19.06.2024 00:54:36] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Hunh. Well, this is a strange sight.
[19.06.2024 00:54:56] [DSE]-Wayfarer: It's being handled, Imperial. Feel free to visit the bar while you're here
[19.06.2024 00:55:01] Kathryn.Brandt: [Bridge] Standing by to cover, Mosel.
[19.06.2024 00:55:26] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Dang, looks like we're low on that copper
[19.06.2024 00:55:31] Main.1: Hm.
[19.06.2024 00:55:36] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Sorry about that. I'll ping the boss about another op first thing
[19.06.2024 00:55:47] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Anyway, I see you're not 15K away yet
[19.06.2024 00:55:52] ISS-Mosel: Comms: We will just have to load up on it after we put in for refueling.
[19.06.2024 00:55:58] [DSE]-Wayfarer: So Ima give you two more minutes to comply
[19.06.2024 00:56:06] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Then I've got authorization to open fire
[19.06.2024 00:56:13] ISS-Mosel: Comms: The OSC boys should have enough to refill the reactors.
[19.06.2024 00:56:17] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: Like I said: feel free.
[19.06.2024 00:56:34] Main.1: Nothing will happen, DSE, wasting your time.
[19.06.2024 00:56:39] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Yeah, we're actually waitin' for a booze delivery from them
[19.06.2024 00:57:02] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Definitely gonna need a stiff drink after this fiasco
[19.06.2024 00:57:13] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Got a DSE builder colluding with a pirate trans
[19.06.2024 00:57:21] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Don't know how I can put a positive spin on it
[19.06.2024 00:57:26] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Hunh.
[19.06.2024 00:57:31] Main.1: How the hell do you figure that?
[19.06.2024 00:57:33] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Boss is gonna be pissed no matter how you look at it
[19.06.2024 00:57:39] Main.1: Because his ship is nearby mine?
[19.06.2024 00:57:56] Main.1: You've got no evidence except me saying that he's harmless
[19.06.2024 00:58:07] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Dunno fella, you seem awful willing to take their side in this here stand off
[19.06.2024 00:58:21] Main.1: There's no stand off. You made that up yourself for whatever reason.
[19.06.2024 00:58:21] [DSE]-Wayfarer: All I'm askin' is to move to 15k away, but here you are running your mouth
[19.06.2024 00:58:40] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Instead of condemning these assholes like all hardworking folks should
[19.06.2024 00:58:50] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Welcome to Liberty.
[19.06.2024 00:58:51] [DSE]-Wayfarer: And on that note, looks like yer time is up, chief
[19.06.2024 00:59:01] [DSE]-Wayfarer: So I'm gonna open fire now
[19.06.2024 00:59:05] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: Go for it.
[19.06.2024 00:59:18] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Well Interspace is gonna love this insurance claim.
[19.06.2024 00:59:25] Main.1: Big mistake.
[19.06.2024 00:59:35] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi: I'll see you soon.
[19.06.2024 00:59:35] Touka_Ryuumonbuchi died to [DSE]-Wayfarer (100%)
[19.06.2024 00:59:46] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Scanning
[19.06.2024 01:00:01] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Don't look too bad
[19.06.2024 01:00:03] Kathryn.Brandt: [Bridge] Leaving weapons armed, Mosel. Will cover in case of escalation, Ma'am.
[19.06.2024 01:00:07] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Guess it's time for that tow, eh
[19.06.2024 01:00:07] ISS-Mosel: Comms: The captain would like to inquire as to the nature of the incident we just witnessed.
[19.06.2024 01:00:31] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Just some mouthy pirate not willing to respect a 15K perimeter around Susquehanna
[19.06.2024 01:00:37] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Had to disable 'em
[19.06.2024 01:00:47] Main.1: Nobody cares about your dead base.
[19.06.2024 01:00:51] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Is such an issue common?
[19.06.2024 01:00:52] Main.1: Go home.
[19.06.2024 01:00:56] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Bigger issue is this guy over here giving DSE a bad name
[19.06.2024 01:01:00] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Got a talkative little guy there...
[19.06.2024 01:01:13] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Nah, we've had Corsair smugglers and the odd junker and pirate
[19.06.2024 01:01:17] [DSE]-Wayfarer: But no one else really
[19.06.2024 01:01:21] Main.1: *sigh*
[19.06.2024 01:01:26] [DSE]-Wayfarer: PDCs take care of most of 'em
[19.06.2024 01:01:32] [DSE]-Wayfarer: And I head out to deal with the rest
[19.06.2024 01:01:44] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Time for that drink I think
[19.06.2024 01:01:48] Main.1: I have your name, thank you.
[19.06.2024 01:01:50] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Safe flying to you folks
[19.06.2024 01:01:54] ISS-Mosel: Comms: Well as long as corporate says we still have the clearance to move bulk cargo off Sasquehanna, we will continue
[19.06.2024 01:01:57] ISS-Mosel: Business as usual.
[19.06.2024 01:01:59] [DSE]-Wayfarer: Name's Geller by the way

[REPORT SUMMARY ] Expansion of Erie convoy
Good day Boss,
As planned, the final convoy was scheduled for the Erie expansion. All goods have arrived, but not without a cost. The convoy consisted of three trips. During the first trip, we ran without security due to personnel shortages, this led to us running into multiple pirates in Pennsylvania. A freelancer arrived to support us, but this was all too late. The pirate demands we could not meet, and our convoy was disabled, resulting in the loss of the supplies.
After repairs, the second trip was smooth sailing due to support from both the freelancer mentioned earlier and two navy ships. All ships arrived safely without any contacts during the trip. But as always, quiet can be too quiet.
During the last trip, we got into a skirmish with some local Pennsylvanians. These were not your typical pirates. These were something else. A safe corridor was set up by the navy and the freelancer at the jump gate towards Pennsylvania.
However, during the jump, we realized that one of the unidentified ships managed to get between the convoy, severely damaging the other transport ship. We were luckily able to save the cargo, but it was a close call.
We should be wary in Pennsylvania; it seems some are not so happy with our projects...
[REPORT SUMMARY ] Bowex Convoy
As communicated, we were contacted to join a convoy hosted by Bowex. My crew and I joined them over at Sprague in Omega-3. I must say it had been ages since I'd been out this far; I was still a little one back then, on holiday with my parents to New London. This was the last time I was in Bretonia. But enough about me.
The convoy went smoothly. We picked up silver in the Omegas and hauled it over to Colorado. We picked up the freshly made platinum from Red Rock and headed back. I must say we ran into some issues with some tradelanes; we really gotta contact Ageira about some maintenance. Oh yeah there was also this some shady fella trailing us, but security dealt with him.
[REPORT SUMMARY] VESPUCCI ACCESS CORRIDOR EMPTY OF THREATS OR SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC
Howdy Boss.
We started of from Valley Forge. It looks like there hasn't been a supply run in over two months, based on what the techs told us. Someone really ought to check out the automated buoys around Veracruz.
On our way out, helm noticed a station slowly being charred by the corona. I guess some genius decided it was cheaper to leave some reaction mass and run the autopilot, than paying us or some junkers to take it apart. Based on LIDAR and other scans, it's in a sorry state, and completely abandoned. Old records show that it's probably Emleton, but it's hard to be sure with all the damage.
After getting to Kansas, traffic drops off substantially. There are some light bounty hunter flights, though I'm guessin' they're just getting youngsters used to the controls. Right within sensor range of the hole, we've got another abandoned station. This one looks to be one of our old explorer depots, later taken over by the junkers. But they're gone too - guess they didn't wanna hang around without any customers. Still, it's a bit weird that the junkers just abandoned it. There's definitely water in the system, and pretty of other crap to salvage. Kinda gives you the creeps if you really think about it. Doesn't look like there was any sabotage either - people just up and left, and the rocks did the rest.
Gettin' out of Dodge, and there's barely any contacts. I did pick up a train acting kinda suspect, but since it stayed away I figure I'd just let it be. It soon disappeared in the direction of the Pennsylvania hole.
So like I said, plenty of water left in-system, either within the Arkansas, or on Wichita (still there on LRS). We even got some of our old buoys still operational, but only around the Vespucci hole. May be worthwhile to tow a few more to point back towards Penn. The area around the whole is empty except for a big battlecruiser wreck, one of ours. Again, why aren't junkers all over it? What's gotten them so spooked? It is pretty bare-bones, but still plenty of tech on that thing to be worth taking apart.
Starting at the battlecruiser, you can sorta see how the battle went. It must've blockaded the hole while a battlegroup mopped up the Insurgency forces. There's a destroyed Insurgency cruiser, and a Liberty boarding group on an intact one. My guess would be a complete reactor scram after the navy boys couldn't hold off a counter-attack. There's more crap further off, but I'll leave that for the next intrepid explorer. Or just a junker or two.
Boss, we really gotta send someone over to Rochester and ask why the hell they've kept clear of Kansas. I ain't seen or heard anything while we were out there, but they've gotta know something. And we need to figure out what, before we lose a whole station crew setting up.
