Allow me to introduce myself. I am Grey, a scientist of the Phoenix organization.
It has been some time since our last collaboration on scientific pursuits, and I am delighted to reconnect for a matter of significance.
We are reaching out to enlist your expertise for a specialized survey and collection mission. Our objective is to obtain pristine ore and gas samples from various locations across Sirius.
While entities such as IMG or GMG might typically be approached for such endeavors, their focus on mining often precludes the precision we require—specifically, the acquisition of core drill samples entirely devoid of human trace or interference.
This unique standard is why we have chosen you. Furthermore, we seek comprehensive scans of the surrounding environments, aiming to identify radiation signatures and pollution sources that are entirely independent of human influence or activity.
Our requirements include 10 to 20 core drill samples per ore type, excluding iridium, as it has already undergone thorough analysis. Kindly share your terms for undertaking this mission, along with a suitable location for the transfer of the samples.
We greatly value your exceptional capabilities and look forward to your response.
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Grey Kalish, Phoenix Subject: Sample Collection
Hello, Grey Kalish. My name is Albert McKenzie, head of the Starfliers.
Your request does intrigue us. We are looking into material extraction for our own uses, and this may allow us to test our tools. We can also certainly survey a particular area, whether it be a nebulae or rocky field, surrounding these deposits. Scanning for any foreign contaminants to ensure the samples are pure is something we have succeeded in previously. What I will advise is mining for resources is not something we excel at, as the only experience we have is extracting water from an ice cloud. Though this does present a challenge and avenue for further research in the future for us.
We know of Niobium in Tau-23 and Diamonds in Omega-11 so far, though we have not investigated these sits thoroughly. Please do provide a list of ore samples and their respective systems they are located in, so we can make an effort to get this done for you. At this time, we do not have a price, as this is outside of our usual tasks that we advertise to the public.
I’ve reached out to our Trade and Mining Department for additional insights. Hopefully, a part our trade fleet—currently engaged in selling iridium—has established some valuable connections within the ore market.
Below is a summary of the primary mined ores and resources currently available across Sirius:
Aluminum ore in sigma-15
Copper ore in Coronado
Gold ore in Dublin
Heavy water in Pennsylvania
Helium-3 in sigma 13
Molybdenum Ore in Zurich
Platinum Ore in Galileo
Silver Ore in omega-7
Uranium in leeds
On a related note, Platinum and Gold extraction now requires a more advanced technique due to the depletion of easily accessible fields. This method involves breaking open asteroids with heavy equipment and specialized weaponry. We can temporarily deploy a Hegemon in those regions to fracture the asteroids, allowing you to collect the samples. However, establishing diplomacy with the local guilds will be necessary to ensure we are not perceived as competitors.
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Grey Kalish, Phoenix Subject: The List
Hello, Grey Kalish.
This list is very concise. Well done. I shall try to find an available pilot to send out one of our Deep-Space Cargo Vessels, they are equipped with rudimentary mineral extraction tools.
In the meantime, the only part to this that is problematic is to gain access into the Dublin System. This lines up with your concern regarding the contact of any local groups. We will investigate the Platinum zone first as it's within easy reach from our current location. If what you say is accurate, we will need assistance getting your requested samples. Though before this we will make our own assessment from these hardened asteroid deposits.
Until further notice, we will attempt do do our best with the ores samples that we are able to collect.
We have in our databank an access to Dublin through a less-traveled and lesser-known route. If you're familiar with Omega-48, we could arrange a meeting point there before proceeding to the gold fields.
In the meantime, I'll establish contact and open communications with the Dublin authorities.
Regarding the platinum, if assistance is required, I'll reach out to Bristol. We have ongoing dealings with them, and I'm confident their skilled miners can handle the asteroid destruction part for you efficiently.
I'll keep you updated on any developments concerning Dublin.
So far, our attempts to reach the RPA have been met with the silence of space.
Fortunately, there are organizations that operate there.
However, I will not lower myself to contact BMM. Instead, I will try with IMG and will keep you informed of any updates.
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Grey Kalish, Phoenix Subject: Platinum
Hello, Grey Kalish.
Everything is going well on our side.
We have just secured a load of Platinum from Kishiro's nearby stockpile. The fields in Galileo are not clean at all, a strong radiation field is present. Surveying the area is futile, as our small transport got partly melted whilst Kishiro's mining vessel got us a crate of Platinum.
The Auriga currently carries many other samples of other resources. I do apologize with being silent, it has not been an eventful journey to report on so far.
We are making our way out to the Omegas to meet one of your own. If we are able to secure some Gold, then we'll have enough to hand over to Phoenix.
That's good to hear. I'll contact our mining division and arrange for a Hegemon to be rerouted to Gran Canaria, as the locals in Dublin seems too preoccupied to assist us at the moment.
The team will handle breaking down some asteroids for you to collect the samples. Once the gold sample is secured and safely stored by your experts, the Hegemon will transport everything back in one go.
Please note, it may take some time for the Hegemon to reach Omega-48. I estimate they won't arrive in the Omega system until the end of the week.
With this in mind, when would you like to meet them?
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Grey Kalish, Phoenix Subject: Omega-48 Meet
Hello, Grey Kalish.
My pilot had asked a couple of Freelancers around Freeport 1, were pointed towards a rift leading to Omega-5. They tell us this Gran Canaria is located within Omega-48, with a connection to it located at a distance from the Hammen Hole.
Will meet you there and then take our journey into Dublin. I'll relay any new plans to my pilot over the secure channel, they'll be meeting with you while I have some work to attend to. Their name is Naomi.
Daniel and Hector have confirmed that all samples were successfully acquired.
Hector returned to Corinth without incident, and the samples are now securely stored in our laboratory.
The research team tasked with the sample confirmed their pristine condition.
Based on the information I received, our financial department has already compensated Naomi for their work, issuing a payment of 4,400,000 sc.
Thank you again for your reliable services; we may reach out in the future as our research program continues to advance.
