' Wrote:You are responding with point by point refutations (and snippy, meaningless personal digs) to what are simply observations and suggestions and opinion. Its not a debate or flame. I have played in Kusari--with nuance and differently. In fact--there is quite a post by yourself regarding my own Hogosha character about how much you admired the rp. Search around, you'll blush.
Of course I remember your Hogosha character. I found it quite refreshing to see the leader of the Junkers to be playing on both sides of the field. Quite honestly, what I am saying is that in order to "expand" Hogosha RP, more people have to become educated, and setting bad examples of what should be done is not the way to educate people. Bringing something into Kusari that is there just to get shot (What else do you expect us to do with a giant Junker ship?) is not doing that...
' Wrote:I don't play cross characters as a rule--I am invested in the Junker side of things but I do have a neutral background char in Kusari daily and have had for some time--so this is observation...and its not a knock on the role play that is in Kusari now. It's a suggestion that new things can be done.
Never said not to shoot Junkers. etc. but am stating there is more to it than just that and closet rp for Kusari only. I'll ignore the other argumentative stuff. If you look over my rp log you'll see that i never intended to be a Junker waging full war or staying in Kusari indefinitely and if you do read you will see that I've moved on. Much ado about nothing. And do fly your own barge for awhile and you'll get an idea of what I mean. 'Nuff said.
To say the same point, more people have to understand what is happening in Kusari to completely fulfill Kusari RP. How can you expect someone to bring out the full extent of their roleplay when people don't give them the respect of time to? It's a matter of education, and, quite frankly, there are a lot of people who are getting the wrong impression....
Now, onto the Barge, thank you for moving it somewhere I can positively interact with you. I look forward to it.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
I understand the dilemma of bad players--but the problem is they aren't under my control. I do make an effort to reign them in (ask any of the original Congress members about how insistent I was on a solid rp reason for things and not being chaotic) where I can but I am hesitant to simply avoid an area of legitimate rp (and in this case, core rp) because someone else might be stupid.
My sending a transport (and that's all it is--only really big) to Kusari to hide in a powered down status in an off the plane orbit to collect loot from covert and non-Junker commerce raiders (also freighters and transports) isn't an over-the-top attack on Kusari. It could easily have turned into a positive with no threat to rp stability there. I was intentionally "quite" as i wasn't there to overtly advertise my presence or taunt Kusari publicly. All the Kusari would now "know" is the ship made several infiltration attempts, finally got in and left after a short stay. I am sure they would be greatly intrigued as to what it was up to but its going to be a mostly unknown purpose for them. Possibly, a slight increase in piracy was noted and they may speculate it was related to the ship.
When I am in Kusari, I always PM players who "get pissed" because the Kusari players bop them. On many occasions, I have quietly compensated them for their lost cargo and PMed and explanation of "how Kusari works". In public chat, I always reinforce what Kusari players are doing so a miffed player doesn't feel its a random act when he gets the "Kusari Welcome".
As to the JSF....the reason I haven't officially started it and set it as a group in motion is I am being very careful that its clear what it is for and I don't want anyone "hooking up to it" who simply has a bloodlust to kill things. It will be pretty much dedicated to the Wild-Nomad effort but it IS to be used as a political instrument by all Junkers in a semi-democratic system. So if a consensus of Junkers wanted to embargo Kusari we could consider it but then you could network as i would be the first to contact you. The entire reason I set it up this way was so that I could make it non-personal and still be "true to life".
The rp for the barge will be in Puerto Rico--but the RP to advertise it and establish a reputation and history and known presence for it has to happen outside there. Right now I am basically flashing it while dropping slight hints of what it will ultimately do. That's all.
And if you do get your own barge--send it to Puerto Rico--we would love to find it;)
Note"
Remember the barge is DESIGNED for deep space, forward and long-term deployment. It is meant to be mostly self sufficient for long periods of time acting as a surveillance/intelligence center, mobile base/factory, etc. The frequency that you get hung in objects or stuck and the time it takes to dock bases do pretty much mandate that a lot of logging in space is required--which is quite compatible for the designed rp of the ship. I've never logged to avoid combat--note the number of times its been "destroyed". Quite frankly, sometimes after two-hours of nerve wracking movement and docking I just have to go to the bathroom and can't wait to find a safe base an hour later :$
