I've seen you once out there, you did a trade I believe with an Outcast. Its an interesting idea, especialy if all you deal in is the NPC's players get, but there are some out there who will not give them up to you, and a few who might even take you down just to get what your carrying.
The ship concept looks too simple, too plain. We thrive on richness and detail here in my opinion. I believe I have seen recently that one Unique ship, if it is indeed the One and it had details and aspects about it I just HAD to get a close look at.
Either way, like a few have said, if you were to get that ship because you believe your unique enough, then consider for a moment all the characters under the Special Request section, would they not deserve something specialised and unique for them as well if that would bring out the role play that makes them special?
See where i am going with this? Take your time, be here a Lot, make your Role Play known far and wide, get yourself added to the Special Character request section, ect ect...

Thats to be expected. Hence going for a Gunboat class instead of Transport (other than Transports having way more space than required, if I needed a transport to do my jobs i'd wonder if i'd walked into a warzone....) Plus, thats the risk one takes no matter your factions, ship or purpose.

True, i'm after ideas as well here, as the title says its a WIP and a concept, not a fully developed idea yet.

Too true, and I understand that, what others missed (not naming names, though I don't need to methinks) is that this is just a WIP and Concept thread, not an actual request, this thread is to develop the concept, get ideas, AND if its interesting enough it could easily be a wide-spread ship, but the INITIAL concept is for a unique craft. (Essentially my character would have the first developed model of it sort of deal.)
So ANY ideas people have THROW them at me!

Geeze, no offense dude but that's a lot of polys for a model of that level of detail... you must have a lot of dead/useless verticies.
Honestly, I think you should take a look at Bretonian achitecture. Take a tour of all the planets in Bretonia and look at their buildings. They're reminicent of cathedrel achitecture. You should go with a style like that, but more grungy.

The polygons are tied up in the Gothic Arches. Not one dead or useless vertice, just detailed arches.

Could you remove the archs from the sides of the ship, replacing them with a texture/skin that look like archs?
Then use those polygons to make 4 towers on the church/cockpit bit at the back on the top. The coffin is obvous from its shape but the church is a bit bland.
You said about making it a generic religious ship but picking a house would give you more scope for design. Then you could pick between a shintoesque or chrisianesque style. Further to that, the churchs in America, Germany and England look different and could be an inspiration to refine the ship a bit more.

No I can't remove the Arches, they're a critical element of the design. (As the texture, should I figure out how to make one) is supposed to frame the racks of Cryo-coffins.)

When I think Generic religious i always think Gothic.

Do you -really- need a unique ship? Theres plenty of ships that you could use, a retrofitted prison liner or something, but what you should be asking yourself is:
Do I really need my own ship for my RP to go forward?
The reason Mon'Star got it is because he'd been RPing his char for years in a OC dessie, which didn't make much sense. In RP the Necrosis already looked like it does now, but ingame he had the OC dessie. Eventually he got his own ship with the backing of most of the community.
You on the other hand, could easily use a ship already in the mod. There is no reason why your RP needs this ship.

Don't worry about the poly count just yet, Freelancer can cope with 20k before it starts to get jumpy, most ships of this size are 5-6k I think.
Also donutman is correct, your RP doesn't NEED this ship, which is why as a unique submission it will likely flounder. But there's no reason to not try it, and then perhaps propose a less-unique version for general usage.

Well, not really. Gothic is pretty specific as to the time and location. Thatd make it more of a Rheinland ship. Having said that, the Kusari yacht has some gargoyle type things on that might add atmosphere.
