When you die, your weapon set you had switches to weapon group 1. So my weapon group one on my dreadnaught is my 12 normal turrets. Say I was using BRs on another ship when I died. They are group 3. Group 3 would then be 12 normal turrets, as would group 1. You have to reset group 3. Sometimes a good thing to have your most used group as 1 (12 normal turrets for me) and the second highest used one to be group 2 AND group 6 if its unused. That way if you need to use it and you just died, you don't have to reset as your being shot, because you have a backup group.
Something was definetly wrong with weapon group one, because it automatically reset itself to the weapons that are active right now.
Tried to make weapon groups, set group one, activated other weapons, pressed fire group one and the weapons that were active right now were fired.
So, I started with weapon group 2. 2 is on my keyboard 1, 3 is 2 and so on. No problems anymore.

Heathen, you have to set it to group 1, set the weapons, then hit Select Group 2 before you can set group 2. Not hit select when you want to shoot it. Otherwise the weapons will just overwrite group 1.
I didn't use "select", I used "fire weapons group".
Anyway, it works perfectly the way I set it with all the other weapons groups. Except for group 1. Which is why I don't use that one.

Well, you have to keep in mind, Freelancer was never exactly finished. This is one of the more finer points that they thought no one would notice or care about.

They really did drop the ball didn't they, ashame to I have enjoyed this game far longer than any any game before it. Even before I found Disco Freelance had me right on the edge of divorce :nyam:. My only complaint with the SP game was it needed to be streched out between levels.
