Click-a-Day ads and Discovery

Hey folks, what with the server being quite costly, and me not knowing how much the denizens actually give to the server I think we can come up with some sort of revenue ad system for the Discovery server and site.

Now, with my suggestion, I AM NOT suggesting banner ads and whatnot on the forum site itself, I think I remember the staff saying no to that. But, what I do suggest is a dedicated thread where there are ad links and banners, that when clicked generate revenue for the account holder. I suppose that would either be Igiss or Majkp to put towards the site and server costs.

There are game sites that do a system where a click a day on an ad, generates money for the account holder and the game rewards the player for it. Our reward would be helping the server and in turn, the mod and our fun and SNAC sniping.

So essentially, a pinned thread where players can daily, click some ads and help give cash to the server. No cost to us, and I believe no cost to the server or mod.

For argument sake, lets say one daily ad click generates 25 cents. 50 people click on it. That's 5 dollars to the account holder. Not much, but that can happen daily, and with multiple ads! Every little helps because it really does ad up. Look at Google.

Isnt this abusing of the whole thing? it could work yes, but it might become a problem if suddenly the ad company finds out that this is being used just to get money and not actually advertising... I think

A few game sites I know was using this system, they're still going. Many survey sites use it, like Points2Shop as an example.

The advertising company doesn't really care, as they are being paid by the individual companies that are pushing their product to host their ads. They are middle-men.
