6.2 Ship and equipment used must match tag and ID as closely as possible.

This is stated rule, but i keep running into Freelancer TAGGED/PIRATE ID'd player's,in what ever ship they decide they want to use. They are always neutral(not hostile) to all lawfull faction's,so how is this RP?

Please give your opinion's.

PS. If in my LSF char,is it ok to kill said person, seeing as they have PIRATE ID?

Both things are okay.

Both things being the Pirates with Freelancer IFF - they're freelancing pirates.
That logically leads to the resolution of your next question: Yes, it's perfectly all right to shoot them - but only if they're using unlawful ships or equipment and pirating and whatnot.

If they just have the ID but aren't doing anything wrong, you can't tell that they're a pirate within RP.

I run a Freelancer IFF/Pirate IDed Mining ship.

The ship is perfectly allowed under the PIrate ID...and The Pirate ID nerfed rep so I can only land on unlawful bases, and only some...I had to have a freind help rep fix unlawfuls so I could land.

If they are neutral or green to lawfuls, that means they rep fixed, to powerplay, as the Pirate ID nerfs the hell out all the factions.

As it was explained to me when I first saw this:

Pirate Ided players, with Freelancer IFF, are players who are pirates, but not wanting to be associated with typical unlawful/pirate groups. So by using a Freelancer IFF, they are stating, yes we are pirates, no we are not rogues, lane hackers, corsairs, outcasts, xenos, etc.

I use a Mining ship, as I find it balanced, and Its not a Pirate Faction Specific Ship.

Hope that helps you...

Also I feel your pain. I have not quite understood why someone would Freelancer Tag/Pirate ID a faction specific ship, just to do the same thing said faction does.....

The reports of my trying to imitate the revered Michal Golanski are greatly exaggerated...my avatar should prove this.

Freelancer tag does not make you lawful. Pirate ID does make you unlawful. If you have a Pirate ID, you cannot use lawful ships. However, note that the Hegemon Mining Ship is not inherently lawful, nor are many civilian transports.

The Pirate ID specifically says you need to have an unlawful tag OR a Freelancer tag. It's written right there. Also, the Pirate ID repfixes everyone even remotely lawful to hostile, even those which, by canon, should not be (such as the IMG).

Incorrect.

That is, not universally correct. Sometimes characters don't fit with, or don't wish to be tied to, a specific already existing faction. This is true of both lawfuls and unlawfuls. Any character who doesn't want to be affiliated with a particular NPC faction uses the Freelancer tag. That's what it's there for.

Asking everyone for answers and then disregarding those answers before asking for admin answers instead does not really make me any more apt to answer many questions any more.

Quote:Pirate ID

Pilot carrying this ID is an independent Pirate of the Sirius sector, who:

* Can demand credits or cargo from traders and unallied smugglers or factions

* Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls within their Zone of Influence

* Can fulfill unlawful bounty contracts

* Can trade and escort smugglers

* Can ally with unlawfuls, mercenaries, and freelancers

* Cannot ally with any lawfuls

* Cannot use any ship with more than 3,600 cargo capacity except for the Pirate Train

* Cannot land on any lawful bases across Sirius except for Zoner bases

Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Pirate Train

Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. Players using the Pirate ID must have either an unlawful tag or freelancer tag and their equipment, ship and area of operation must also reflect their tag.

Freelancer IFF and Pirate ID is acceptable. The player that is pirating must, if a combat starts, shoot a CD or something else at any lawful npc's in the area so that they're now shooting at him. But realistically - he's an independant pirate that goes where he wants to. Doesn't mean he doesn't have in-game RP reprecussions for his actions - all the organized pirate gangs (Corsairs, Outcasts, etc.) are free to beat up and/or pirate HIM if they want to do so, after all.
