my only question to some of the game devs is, do they even listen to what the players want or do they just think, locked up in their office "hey, i know- lets make folding mech mobile bases that can be used to attack other crawlers" or "hey, lets make a cybran super experimental a godzilla tribute". -_-
They are trying to make all games as smooth as possible so they can be open and easy to play for first time players. Naturally, no matter how hard the game developers try they loose the key aspects of the game which made it good and essentially appealing to the original fanbase. Games are becoming far too generic in the need for casual gamers

Prequel. P.S. Probably explains a lot of the differences. More Ghost Recon aiming comes from not having 50 years of desperate development chipped/teched/Metta Cheeb'd into your head.
Anywho, yes, I've noticed this as well. They are, for the most part, betraying their roots, but a few of them are still sticking to it. Oh well. Go with the flow.

Mount and Blade is awesome, been playing since beta .808
Anyway, sequels. Mass Effect 2 is a prime example. WAY different gameplay wise from ME1, and the changes are good. You need to experiment to find a flavor that your gamers like. Sometimes doing the same game three times gets old. After I played ME1, I'd have said, "Yes, ME1 had good gameplay. Don't change it!"
After playing ME2, I look at ME1 and think, "How the 'ff did I do that and not get bored?"
Hey I'm in Mount & Blade Warband Beta, I bought the game like two years ago and I'm still playing and recently got accepted for the multiplayer beta, I can say it KICK ASS!
