Before trying to implement a dynamic econ. mod, which generates illogical trade routes, for example: Niobium on Leipzig station (Dresden) will be cheaper than on Falkland base (Tau 37), first we should try to make high profitable trade routes less profitable and vice versa with the less profitable routes.
This will give an opportunty to trade with CH or Optical Chips too, for example, instead of Niobium and prisoners.
I think you got the picture.
I second ac_merc's say. glad tau 31 will be out in the next mod.
Also, from reading and researching about dynecon, it would require to replace discovery. Definitely a no go.
<strike>However, since we are concentrating on getting new ships and systems only, I was wondering if there are any programmers who would consider modifying the discovery mod to include the dynamic economy into it? dont know if thats even possible, but just throwing out an idea....(it will definitely a good addition) for future mod.</strike>
It's interesting from a technical standpoint, but it's not going to happen here, as already said by Igiss.
Dynamic economy is supposedly just a one feature there (again, I cannot confirm as I have not seen the subject in the action myself). Some other features actually look interesting, making the game more akin to dynamic nature of MMO games.
Actually I'll go ahead, find it and see how it works, simply just for a personal research (I've always been taking interest in living dynamic worlds and their technical implementation).
It's kinda scary the way some folks charge in and shout no at any sort of change. If it wasn't for someone deciding to alter vanilla FL, we'd not even be here. Imagine someone saying "how dare they let players use capital ships! NO!". How much fun would that be?
Don't be afraid of change if it's what people want, can be done properly and adds to the enjoyment of the game.
It is always better to avenge dear ones than to indulge in mourning. For every one of us, living in this world means waiting for our end. Let whoever can, win glory before death. When a warrior is gone, that will be his best and only bulwark. Beowulf

You've got to remember though that it's always the most opinionated people that will be heard. I for one would like a dynamic economy, and I'd say I'm pretty opinionated about it. But Igiss has already stated his point and I'm not going to argue about it.
(Although I do think dynamic economy is the next step in the evolution of the game. New ships and systems just isn't enough really)
Point made, now I'm out of this discussion. :yahoo:
