I'm really getting tired of the constant "the Sabre is so uber" and "Krakens are so imbalanced."
I've been tired for quite some time already, but recent rumours about nerfing both the Sabre and the Krakens really made me do some calculations about it. And it doesn't really look that bad for the Titan anymore.
I'll start with the well known facts and the reasons everyone is complaining about the Sabre. Let's call them the pro-Sabre facts.
The Sabre has the superior agility.
The Sabre has a forward firing turret.
Krakens deal 2224 DPS hull damage while the Salamancas only deal 2120 DPS Hull damage. (~5%)
Krakens have a projectile speed of 700m/s. (Which is actually just matter of training)
Now about the never mentioned facts. The pro-titan facts:
The Titan has the superior base armour (13.500 to 11.200 ~ 20%)
The Titan has the largest VHF power core (15.000 to 11.400 ~ 30%)
The Titan power core recharges faster than the one of the Sabre (1340 to 1160 ~15%)
The Titan has the harder to hit shape.
Salamancas have an energy usage of only 452 per second while the Kraken has 504 (~12%)
Salamancas do 4.69 DpE while the Krakens do only 4.41 DpE (6%)
Now what does it tell us?
For once, the Sabre is capable of dealing 15.568 DPS for a time of less than 5 seconds.
On the other hand, the Titan is capable of dealing 12.720 DPS over a duration of more than 10 seconds.
So the Sabre deals about 22% more DPS while the Titan can fire twice as long.
The first part of the conclusions above is what most people look at. And then they say the Sabre would be overpowered. Almost no one cares about the second part though.
Now when is the second part important? Obviously not in a duel most people use as a reference to determine the strength of a ship. No, the second part becomes important in a group fight. Sabre pilots chasing a target which is not jousting run out of energy pretty fast while Titan pilots can just keep firing. Hence, the Titan pilots are in a group fight able to deal more damage.
Assuming all shots would hit, the Titan would have dealt 127.200 Hull damage after 10 seconds. In the same time, a Sabre would have only dealt about 100k Hull Damage.
What am I telling you with this?
Simple. If something irks you about balance, check the matter from all sides first and include all the facts at hands, not just those who are in favour for the opponent. Both sides have their advantages and disadvantages as it should be. It's a shame if a whole NPC faction and their players would be going to suffer due to the complaints of some individuals shouting loud enough. Especially members of the Dev-Team should make their decisions based on common sense rather than the complaints of individuals or personal preferences. You can't blame the equipment for every lost fight. Sometimes the other side was just better.
give it a thought.

I'll contest that, actually; they can both be an utter pain to aim at depending on what angle you're coming from, and both are extremely generous to those who strafe.
Still, the Titan is rock-on. I'm more of a Gladiator fan because ostensibly I'll learn to use my MR some year, but Corsair tech is solid. While the Tizona is wicked beyond doubt (I have a few on my Drone, it's awesome), the Salamanca is under-appreciated too.
I won't say it's perfectly balanced, but it's a lot closer than most people give credit.
And how much time exactly have you spent combating Outcasts to have the cheek and courage to dare suggest, that they need even better equipment?
And forgive me for being unkind, but you are comparing the very pinnacle of what there is in terms of performance. Next time around, I would humbly suggest comparing what is considered below that as well.
The only thing I don't get, is why are you comparing it with the Titan only... sure that's the archenemy's main ship, but there's many other fighters that a Sabre pilot puts his skills and hull against.
Titan is better against capital ships at the cost of being inferior in fighter fights.
Now about sabre being uber.. It's the best VHF there is. Ask any pvp whore out there. Why you think most strong guys in connie flies sabre? Uh? Generic is not the answer, becouse in connie you basicly can get anything. Damn look at my pvp whore userbar. That ships it's like a trademark xD
to prove my points:

Totaly doesn't matter in 1 on 1 in fighter fight. Unless you are a razor spammer. But a guy who can aim razor will be ok with sabre powerplant.
There is actually a huge diffrence between 700m/s and 600m/s guns. Also those 600m/s are put on slower ship making the effect even more "brikerish"
What I'm saying it's not like .. ohh look. Titan is crap compared to Sabre. Or corsair stuff to outcast. But they are better in diffrent porpuses. Then you want to be more universal versus transports and capital ships - sair stuff are better. Then it's more fighter orantied - outcast stuff is more useful.

2 seconds of aimed fire and most of vhf's are blown to dust. I had instakills on inferno 7 kraken sabre. : P now tell me this doesn't matter.

I don't see any suggestions of giving the OC better equipment. Their equipment is awesome... but so is Corsair equipment.
Having played both, I'd like to say that most Corsairs are shooting themselves in the foot before they leave base. There's an answer to OC "tech superiority" so obvious that 99% of everyone overlooks it entirely.
Both are good ships and require vastly different tactics. I've flown both for extended periods of time.
Also don't forget the Sabre is open up to a large population of the server so it receives more criticism.
