In my eyes Blood Dragons are not poor and weak. They are the greatest illegal faction in Kusari and the greatest threat to the Kusari government. In the sp story in my eyes they were bigger than Hackers. Now look what Hackers have become.
Blood Dragons have sympathizers within Kishiro, GMG and even within the higher ranks of the government and maybe within the KNF and KSP.
They have the power to challenge the KNF. To give them one of the smallest BS is not so illogical.
I will not give battleships to Xenos, Gaians, Farmers Alliance, Bundshuh and Unioners. They should have gunships at the maximum.

Actually I agree. Any of the faction who had their own ship line in SP have the ability to develop their own Capital class ships.
Blood Dragons
Rouges/Mollies (Actually a Battlecruiser is more appropriate for them)
They may not be rich but they have wide spanning organizations with significant allies. I mean we have Given the IMG cap and Zoner capital class vessels............
@ Nexus: There's a difference between IMG and Zoners and criminal groups. They aren't hiding in rocks. They can work openly and gather raw materials and personnel easily.
I can't see the Rogues... analogous to drug-addict New York street thugs flying anything bigger than a gunboat.

I can see rouges/mollies having a small cruiser the size of an RH pirate cruiser actually. Besides who says that these ships were necessarily built or developed by the groups who use them?
When The BD left the KNF proper they most likely took a couple of BS captains loyal to their shogun with them. It would make the ship exceptionally old, buts its still a cap ship.
Besides our current cap ship problems do not come from diversity of design, they come from morons with too much bloody money. I bet if it were just the people on these forums playing disco there would only be one or two of every Battleship.
NEXUS, that's what I mean. The unlawful groups, like Blood Dragons, shouldn't have so much money. They should be panicking over whether they are going to have enough fuel for their fighters for tomorrow's raids, not buying the controlling stock in Battleships Incorporated.

Actually....GC are the major crime ring of Kusari.
If you read the rumors....Farmers Alliance are small time, and controlled by Samura propaganda, Hogosha are almost police, BD do raids, and the GC have a massive following, and are growing, and also control the flow of cardamine through Kusari space....The BD are small, and do a few raids on KNF....and depend on Ainu depot to do it. The BD can challenge the KNF because they avoid capships, hide out in the asteroids where capital class vessels are sitting ducks, and are ace pilots.
But Blood Dragons have the money. They are supported by one of the greatest corporations and one of the greatest independant companies. They also are supported by members of the government.
Btw, Rogues and Mollys should be treated as a unit. Which makes them to the greatest pirate faction.

Edit: GC's would been wiped out immediatly, without beeing protected by Blood Dragons.
Quote:a few bombers can take capships.
people just refuse to work with them.
By a few i assume you mean a few people in bombers, being one bomber alone cannot destroy a battleship unless the said battleship is piloted by someone thats blind. Yes that is true, but that never seems to work out on the server when a capship just happens to show up out of the blue and wastes your fighters while your minding your own business. By all means, dont buy the battleships and plan out attacks using bombers and support. Having the ability under key circumstances to get the job done correctly does not really help the fact that an ambush by a capwhore is more easily prevented if your chilling with your own capship, rather than a fighter. If your sitting with a few bombers and a few fighters show up your in the same styled of hot watter anyways, where as a capship would have protected you from the fighters as well as another capship.
This promotes the capship use, its partly how discovery is set up, but mostly the fault again of the capship users.
Quote:Uh... Mercenaries shouldn't have battleships. Small factions should use bombers.
I agree with both of you, just pointing out why its necessary due to how the game is actually played vs how it should be played.

Just like that:D
Also, AoM has it right too. Think on the economic level of how "rich" is actually defined. Factions that you would consider "poor" are small. Being small does not mean they cannot afford to obtain a battleship. These are crime organizations that are leeching off of major houses. Think about how much money is floating around in the varying schemes these organizations are running. If one trade ship can make 10million or more selling one full load of something, then whatever pirate organizations that are a hand in any area will be cutting off the top of schemes of unimaginable quantities of cash. Not to mention battleships could be built on top of existing chassis of other ships to save on money. Bomb the crap out of a kusari ship, tug boat it away, strip it, and start building on top of it for cheaper than scratch development and you have a battleship for a lot cheaper.
I say all of this with the largest ship i own being a cruiser that has logged 7 hours of flight time, and has been in one battle. My RM fighter has logged 47 hours of flight time, and in an nice number of battles. My pirate characters are the ones that get zomgcapwhored, and my bounty hunter and merc characters got it too. When ravager was a Xenos i had people that knew i was a Xenos, flying capships out to kill me for the ship silhouette on their hull. A fighter flying around to find me, then a destroyer/gunboat/cruiser shows up to pop me.

You are right, and over I do not disagree with general point that not every faction should have cap ships, but I fail to see where giving a major NPC the faction the option of a large ship will hurt.
The Nova PG can be attacked on allot of RP related things, but I know for a fact they only fly a single Battleship.
There are people who can threat these things responsibly.
Besides don't BS and fighters use different fuels?
