I do it once in 2 weeks though... since just so that I don't overlook things.
This is more or less correct.
Inactive (dead) characters get removed/deleted every 60 days.
I have been led to understand that a character that has LESS THAN 10 MINUTES of play time logged over 60 days, is considered 'inactive'.
Removals are on a character by character basis, not account based, so if you have an account where 3 chars have been played for 1/2 hour each and 2 chars that have less than 10 minutes, the 2 chars with less than 10 minutes will be deleted.
So you need to play each character for at least 10 minutes over a span of 60 days.
For those of us with only one account (5 characters) it's easy to do.

How close am I to being right?
Only the Admins can say for sure. :P
You are lead to believe wrong.
First, it is not account based. It is character based.
Any character that have LESS than 10 minutes total flight time, will be deleted after 7 days of inactivity - Disintered character deletion.
So if you are making a starflea to serve as a bank character or as an equipment storage ship, be sure to fly it for at least 10 minutes and 1 second, before transferring anything to the character. It sucks to transfer 1 billion cr to it, then not log in for 7 days on the character, and then discover it is gone. Since it is gone for good.
Any character with MORE than 10 minutes total flight time, needs to be refreshed every 60 days. Otherwise they will be deleted after an undisclosed graceperiod beyond 60 days - Inactivity wipe.
To refresh the character, you need to login to the character, then just go to the bar or equipment dealer, then log out.

If I "refresh" a character every 7 days do I still need to fly it for 10 minutes?
