I realize this sounds like a rather inane question, and it may seem like it is premature, but I am currently debating whether it is worth purchasing a certain cruiser and I'd like to get this resolved. (Also, I could not find another thread concerning the matter. If there is one, please point me in the right direction.)
The question itself is thus: will my ships, equipment, money, etc... be transferred to .86 when it is released? If so, is there anything I need to do beforehand? Any further information on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
theres been a couple threads like this. all ships, their weapons, everything, is staying exactly how it is the second before the server switches to 4.86
Thank you both for the prompt response, and I apologize if indeed another thread already exists. It has been my experience in the past that new mod versions wipe clean everything, so this is indeed a relief.

Yeah, some communities make mods in a way which forces the servers to either wipe or have up with a load of useless character files. Discovery doesn't.
On some occasions where the weapons/shields/equipment are no longer allowed on the slots
due to mod build update the weapons/shields/equipment will have to be manually unmounted.
Failing to unmount before undocking will have your character kicked for cheating by the cheat script.
Once the non conforming weapons/shields/equipment are unmounted the player will not be able to
mount them where they are no longer allowed
' Wrote:only question I had in mind was... what happens with weapons the caps cannot mount in the amount they have (weapon splitting)
but I think/hope they will be just unmounted in your cargo
Indeed you will find them unmounted in your cargo hold.
This happened when the bombers lost the fighter guns slots and received bomber guns instead.
