"Greetings, my name is Maxi Corwyn. I apologize for breaking into your secure channel, but I had no other idea how to reach you. I used to be an Ageira employee, like most of you. I was one of the leading scientists responsible for new methods on trade-lane monitoring and deep-space communications development. However, while testing out a new prototype of satellite, I picked up a secret comm. It was being relayed from system to system, and I had been in the exactly right, or wrong, place at the right time. My satellite had a malfunction and prevented the data from transferring any farther. The communication was related to a top-secret thruster project.
"I returned to work, and reported all of this to my immediate superior, as usual. He knew all about the project, and apparently he also knew that he was to be assassinated soon, before he could tell anyone else about it, and had been looking for someone he could trust to make a break with. I was now that person. Again, the wrong place at the wrong time- two men in Ageira uniforms burst down the door of his office with military-grade firearms. My superior was shot dead, instantly. The men began to advance upon me. I picked up a wrench that was lying on my director's desk, and hurled it at one of the men. The other was caught off guard, and I picked up the now-unconscious man's firearm and shot the other man in the chest. I held on to the firearm and ran for the docking bay. I opened the door, hopped in my ship, and got the hell out of there.
"Now, Ageira men are following me. I have nowhere else to turn, and I want revenge on those who wronged me. I have a kid to support, but obviously I can't bring a 7-year-old boy with me to a pirate base. I'm desperate. I've already made friends with the regulars at Mactan base, and outfitted a "Dagger" Border Worlds series light fighter with Lane Hacker equipment. All I need now is your blessing. Maxi, out." There is nothing more than static.
