>Good day.
>My name before now is irrelevant. That was a past life.
>Perhaps I will share it regardless. Jacob Dexter Scoleki.
>I am now Dexter. My ship's transponder is known as "LH~Dexter".
>I am thirty-eight years old.
>My ship has been prepared to meet your standards.
>In my past life, as I like to call it, I was a professor at the University of Jersey.
>A very prestigious University located on Planet Manhattan.
>For many years, in addition to teaching young minds, I was involved in high-tech research.
>Advanced scanners.
>My research was funded exclusively by Ageira Corporation.
>After several years of working on this project, Ageira started cutting funds.
>Budget cuts. Fewer resources. Started to fire employees from my handpicked staff.
>In charge of labour and funding for this scanner research was Buck Johnson. Ageira executive.
>Johnson had it in for me from the start.
>My father, who died when I was twenty-four, had differing opinions than his.
>They had near-violent confrontations, often.
>My father did not speak of it.
>Johnson could hold a grudge.
>He started cutting funding as a way to somehow get back at my father.
>I wrote many letters to the CEOs of Ageira's R&D division.
>They did nothing.
>More budget cuts. Pay decreases. "Work for free" days became more and more common.
>I had a lovely, spacious apartment on Manhattan. They took it from me.
>My wife saw that I could no longer offer the lifestyle we were used to.
>She walked out on me.
>Unsure what to do, I liquidated my assets in the form of Sirius Credit Cards.
>I quit the University.
>I took an orbital shuttle up to Newark Station. I had booked a meeting with Dane Shawn.
>He was a Interspace Commerce investment advisor.
>He recommended I put my money into the stock market.
>Specifically, Pittsburgh Southern Mining Corporation.
>The market crashed five weeks later.
>I found out later on the news that Interspace Commerce CEOs were under investigation for stock market fraud.
>The investigaton was called off.
>They were paid off.
>I had almost nothing left. A half life's worth of credits and hard work, gone.
>My apartment gone.
>My wife gone.
>I needed a fresh start. Away from that place.
>I went to the space dock and purchased the only ship I could.
>CTE 750AE Starflier.
>I decided to try to get to the California system, perhaps Los Angleus.
>I grouped with a convoy of Ageira ships. Dirtbag lapdogs.
>On our way through the first lane in the California system, to Planet "Mojave", the lane cut out.
>There was Mr. Largo.
>He paid little attention to me. He destroyed the dirtbags.
>He started talking to me.
>I was interested.
>He told me how to fix my transponder so it would not flash hostile to these "Liberty Rogues" I kept hearing about.
>I have a keen technological mind. It wasn't hard.
>I managed to locate Buffalo base, after Mr. Largo's vague guide as to where it could be found.
>I enjoy challenges.
>After discussing with the ship dealer, offering every credit I had, and possibly an armwrestling victory, I bought the Dagger for $38,520.
>I found a little bit of work at the bar at Alcatraz base.
>I increased my reputation with the Lane Hackers.
>I tagged along with a Lane Hacker Dagger patrol.
>I got to Mactan base.
>I met up again with Mr. Largo.
>He took me under his wing. Taught me basic piracy tactics. I learned through experience.
>Caught one trader heading through from California to Cortez. Charged him money.
>Mr. Largo fried a trader high up in the Ontario system. I babysat the cargo while he fetched a transport.
>Mr. Largo, Paco Pistols, and myself caught a hegemon filled with Gold Ore. Charged a lot of money.
>While Mr. Largo and Paco were dealing with the transport, I stopped a Tanker from escaping. I made an additional million from that tanker.
>That is all of my exploits in the "real world" up to now.
>
>Run Function: displayImage(profit);
>Displaying.
>
>For now, I'll be taking more jobs at the mission commission at Mactan.
>I look forward to your response.
>Dexter.
