Okay, simple-simple. I need a gunboat I can use as an indie pirate, I don't care if I have to ask a faction (in fact, as long as I can strike a deal that doesn't mean I'm their pet, I'm fine with that) but I need one that, if I do receive it, I can still have the freedoms of an indie pirate.
Suffice to say, I'd like suggestions on a gunboat that I can request/purchase that I'd still be able to wander around Sirius in. Or at least, to a degree.
The only allowed gunboat without request for Pirate ID is Kusari Explorer. The closest you can get to freedom is by requesting a Conference from the Zoners but it kinda sucks compared to others. Request a gunboat from an unlawful faction if you want, but remember once you fly their ship you'll be associated with them.

Yeah, I know that much. Being associated with them is fine, really, it's just having them ram their manhood down my throat.
Zoners won't hand out a Conference if the owner is planning to use it for piracy.
Kusari Explorer works, but it's big and a huge target. It's also not really meant for unlawful use. It's meant for, well.. Exploring.
For an indy pirate, I'd say go with the OC GS (Tridente), or Pirate line GB (Molly/Rogue GB). Both you'll have to request from the factions. I know the Rogues are generally pretty liberal with the permission to use it. OCs might put on some restrictions, such as where it can be used and on whom.

Aye, one of the things I was afraid of... Well, I'll think about it, but due to my questionable rep with the Rogues and my disdain for the Outcasts (in RP, ofc) I'd have to consider those last-resort.
yeah good luck with getting Tridente from OCs:)It will be REALLY needed. Dont forget that it would be pretty the same as you would mount OC ID on it. Cause if you use OC tech, you are basically taking over their diplomacy. Not sure about ZOI, but yeah. Hard task.
Aside from the Kusari Explorer, there're plenty of gunboats to choose from as there're plenty of unlawful factions out there. Pick one which suits you the best in terms of roleplay and performance.
Also remember, you don't always need to fly a gunboat for piracy. Pirate Transport is a good substitute.
