A lot of loans were issued under the idea that there was a measure of security behind it. Much like tech change rules being changed without warning under our feet this change is coming in such a way as to compromise ongoing decisions in the name of making future efforts easier.
You can assume that most reported scammed loans will be processed eventually. For the record there have been 21 loan scam reports in the last 3 months. This is a significant percentage of the total number of loans made on the forum.

Even now if I walked into a bank and asked for 8 million euros no bank will lend me that money. Few thousand, yes. But not an insane amount to a person with a low credibility. It's not a risk-free business.
And I don't believe that handing 800 million to newbie for a brand new battleship helps anybody. If you want to help them to set up, lease them a middle sized transport.

i had a few as well.
i mainy gave loans to give newer players a good start here.
i know how boring is was when i started here to get some credits with the low start money.
thats why i just had a interes of 5% per week... thats nothing.
so for me (not saying is so in general) the loanees are the problem.
maybe instead of this - scammers should be sanctioned harder.
not only draw the cash they scammed... give them banns and such stuff.

not a good idea to do so. ye.
loans for newbies shouldn't be higher than 250m (for a 5k with equiptment)
There's a simple solution to preventing loan scams.
Don't loan out to people you do not know anything about. Real world: Banks will query your credit history, or demand proof of a stable income before loaning out large sums. No trust? No credit. Taking the risk anyway? Expect to get scammed every now and then.

No, people will be smarter about loaning. I get people in server asking me for loans all the time. I here things like, "I hear Admins give money to start" or "I hear that TAZ loans money." If I've never heard of someone, I'm not giving a loan.
Not to sound mean but there are a lot of people who have their generosity taken advantage of.
