"They will have to bring more then, then.. then you"
The reluctance in her words amused Sol greatly... This little girl now was probably trying to look for a way out with all her being.
Amusement was very short-living however... Disrupting the silence of this hallway with her loud steps,a woman came towards them from behind him, surprised him with her sudden appearance. Sol's eyes narrowed and turned into a slit as he saw who this woman was.
She came like she was waltzing into a party, wearing that pretty and clean dress with that bossy attitude even... She was in total contrast to Sol's dusty appearance.
"Oh greaaat!" Sol thought, "they are here to spoil my fun... again!"
He was planning to bring Anna back to Malta himself. In their last conversation, even though he knew the whereabouts of Anna for weeks, he said nothing about it, but did not wonder on how they found her.
"They probably followed me", he thought, "I would"
As she made that slight head movement, Sol felt anger...
She didn't even say a word to him! What nerve! Who do you think you are, woman! You are in the presence of Sol, the fierce wolf of Malta! You come to steal my prey and don't even say... please?!
These were of course very silent thoughts.
Sol realized how much he hated the navy once again... Especially this... bossy granny... with that... very nice, long, shapely legs...
Sol let go of Anna's shoulder as he was sure that she had nowhere to go anymore... His intuition told him that they were already surrounded.
He whiffed another black cloud towards them, with the hopes of annoying them and to mean that, Hey, I am here!
Surprised by the sudden intrusion from this lady.
Wondering why this Sol, as strong as he looked suddenly became so humble.
Giving this 'Sam' as she introduced herself a questioning look.
Shortly looking at Sol again with the same questioning look on her face.
All of a sudden she chuckled, however quietly and controlled.
So you really couldn't do it on your own? Mister.
Then looking back to this 'Sam' slightly frowning at her,
Holding her hands firmly to her side.
I take it you're here to bring me to Malta?
It's not going to work.
She sighed quietly shifting looks between Sol and Sam.
Pulled off her backpack with her 'stolen' goods, holding it in front of herself.
Searching with one hand into it. She grabs out a PDA and puts it in her pocket.
Then holding the backpack towards Sam.
Take this, it's all yours.
Just leave me and Jake alone.
There is enough valuable stuff for you in it to enjoy your time with.
Couple of creditcards and some other valuable stuff.
Take it and leave me alone.
Almost pushing the bag against Sam, holding the backpack firmly.
Sol moved his face closer to Anna with a sudden move after he heard what she said, his eyes blazing behind the goggles, crazily grinning, his teeth clenching the cardi joint.
His muscly right arm fiercely moves towards the bag Anna is holding, he takes the bag from her and crushes it to the wall... The bag and the things inside it spread over the ground, with a loud noise...
"I did not want them to come here... little girl!"
Samantha completely ignored Sol, she knew this pissed him off so it was
a rather thin line she was walking considering what he was capable of doing then she grabbed the bag Anna
handed with two fingers as if it was more radio active than a newly formed neutron star.
[size=small][color=#FFCCCC]"Correct, as a matter of fact I had no idea he was
here, but honestly would you rather be here with him alone or with me?"
Marquez dropped the bag to her side spilling some of its contents on the floor
[font=Palatino Linotype][color=#FFCCCC]
[color=#FFCCCC]"I'm not here to "take" you to Malta, Anna."
Sam smiled but this time although at first look friendly her smile had a rather chilling component to it.
[size=small]
"I'm not here to say dramatic things about me giving you two choices either...You've already made your choice just as I made mine"
"Oh...So you and Jake...I guess congratulations are in
order. But I digress I'm here to show the possibilities revealed by your choice"
Oh how much she hated acting and sounding like a philosophical guru, but then again given the situation her
usual approach wasn't going to do her much good. She then slowly pulled out a pistol from her handbag
holding its barrel and handed it to Anna
[font=Palatino Linotype]"So the possibilities...
One - you can use this gun to end your life right here and escape its injustices.
Two - you use it to shoot us and live and enjoy your free life for about 36 seconds, the time it takes for the
missiles launched by a Ranseur-class dreadnought to reach this station and pulverise it along with everyone
on board...everyone. You see I'll be dead either way so I couldn't care less how many Maltese people will
die here and what ramifications this will have for my nation
Three - We walk together to my ship and when we get back home we sit and have a nice long talk so we
can work out our differences, and if we do manage to do that you live your life with Jake, having an
enormous burden off your shoulders"
Surprisingly enough Samantha's voice sounded rather calming, not at all hostile, arrogant or threatening.
[color=#FFCCCC]"So crossing out the opposite signs the possibilities come down to a very
simple binary equation "Die alone sooner or later, or live happily with Jake? See, I'm not here to "take" you
Anna, I'm here to make you come yourself. What's it going to be?"
she crossed her arms again awaiting for the answer or a shot in the head.
Frowning as she looks at the goods that have fallen out of the bag,
scattered all over the floor.
Taking the gun Sam offered her into her hands, leaning back again the wall.
Staring at it for a moment, a clean stroke over it with her hand.
Staring at her ring. The gun laying loosely in her hands.
You're heartless, what was it again...? Ahhh right Sam.
You do not care about all the people around here, no one.
It almost sounds as if you want to escape life, making me do the work for you.
Talking quietly, her finger stroking the guns barrel slowly.
A quiet sigh coming from her.
Option one and two have the same result for me, I die.
Result two would mean I get to take you and this Sol with me.
Giving Sol a short glance with her eyes, her look returning fixed onto the gun as she keeps stroking the barrel calmly.
Her eyes narrow, the hold on the gun with her hand tightens.
Could there be an fourth option you overlooked, or a fault in one of your options?
She aims the gun with her left hand to Sam.
If I kill you and then him..., how would they know you're dead, how would they know when to fire their missiles?
Pulling how own gun out with her right hand aiming it at Sol at the same time.
Her voice sharpened and so her eyes, more directed at Sol then Sam.
Tell me Sam, how would they know you're both dead?
Samantha smiled and bit her lip, she liked this girl more and more, she was
a natural born warrior by spirit though she might not realize it, every little thing could be exploited every
little logic flaw could be utilized...unless the logic flaw was intentional
[size=small]
[color=#FFCCCC]"My my I haven't been caught unprepared in a long long time, Anna. I can now see why
you caused so much stir..."
Sam leaned forward looking directly in Anna's eyes, no fear, no kindness, no regret just a look that you
couldn't make out what it means
[color=#FF6666]Tell me Sam, how would they know you're both dead?
[font=Palatino Linotype]"They won't...
[font=Palatino Linotype][color=#FFCCCC]...But in exactly 43 minutes those missiles fly
anyway if I am not back at the Implosion with you..."
Samantha moved even closer as if there wasn't a gun pointed at her
[font=Palatino Linotype][color=#FFCCCC]
"...you will say "Sure for 43 minutes I could kill you bury you and fly off this installation before you know it"
Sure you will, but then you have an armed team between you and hangars, let's say you kill 8 of them and
wound 2, and manage to launch your ship out of here. There you will be most greeted by the 13th 3 Series
"Z" Sabres effectively blockading the station at the moment and 3 more on the Implosion..."
Marquez suddenly grabbed the gun pointed at her she didn't try to disarm her or take possession of the gun
just switched the safety from "Safe" to "Armed" something Anna overlooked
[color=#FFCCCC]"...and you manage to defeat them and flee, then my dear you will know what it
is to be truly hunted, a station of this size blowing up and you being the only survivor, hunted by
governments, factions, individuals and most of all hunted by your guilty consciousness that you could have
saved not those 4000 you don't care about but one that you do care about.
Sol Fenrir, rested back, seemingly looking annoyed... Moved towards the wall where he crushed the bag...
His back touched the wall, closed his arms together, and started waiting impatiently...
A dim light above his head was shining, illuminating the scene, the shadows caused by the smoke, reflected on Anna's and Sam's faces.
Sol left out a bored sigh, turned his face to an empty part of the hallway, closed his eyes... At that moment his thoughts changed.
"So peaceful" he thought... He was aware that someone was at a crossroad, someone who lacked careful thinking and brash by nature...
He knew that this could be a grave mistake... Yet, he was there for moments like these... He felt peace, tranquility...
He was purified from his negative thoughts lingering from Malta...
"There is a fourth choice"he said slowly, "I crush your arms, put you in chains, drag you back to my sabre, then go hunt for your lover... Cut off his head, throw it onto the ground before you, take you to Malta for public execution... Enjoy the lovely gathering... then go find somethings to kill more time..." still fixed his sight away from them... "Don't think that I never had a gun pointed at my face... If this buffoon didn't come with her weird ideas, and gave a friggin gun in to your hand, turning this simple matter into a friggin drama which could cost the lives of many innocents by the hand of a dim-wit little girl, you would already be enjoying my hospitality in my Sabre with your presents I prepared for you... rusty chains on your arms..."
With the last words, he shot a fierce glance towards Anna...
The gun in her face couldn't annoy her, neither did Anna with her
justified hostility but Sol with his remark caused Sam's nerves to play a recreation of the Great War, however
managed to somehow contain it and kept her calm look. After turning her head slightly towards Fenrir but still
keeping her eyes on Anna she said
[size=small][font=Palatino Linotype][color=#FFCCCC][color=#FFCCCC]"Let's keep our primal instincts at bay
no matter how hard it is for you, and keep a civilized tone, shall we?
The hold on both the guns in her hands was tightening up.
Turned the gun aimed at Sam towards Sol, now aiming both at him.
That fourth choice of yours, is in your dreams,
No way that would ever become reality. Since you're about to leave!
Leave or I will simply put two bullets in your head.
Her voice sincere as is the look on her face.
Sam, tell your, whatever he is of yours to returns to his ship
Before things start to become a real drama.
Taking a step back away from both, waiting for Sol to be on his way.
'That man is crazy, addicted not only to his pathetic cardie but also addicted to power.'
'That Sam however, she was different, cold but unlike anyone else I met so far from the Outcasts.'
Sol Fenrir stood there calmy, arms still enclosed, resting his back against the cold wall.
The light directly above him, as if it were affected by Sol's menacing thoughts hidden under his calm exterior, started blinking rapidly under the heavy smoke.
Who is it for? Sol thought as he listened to Anna's annoying speech.
Sol, freeing his right arm puts his hand to his neck, moving his head around slowly, cracking his neck.
"What a pain..."
He stepped forward lazily, not towards where he was going before he met Anna, but towards where Anna was going. For a second his eyes met with Samantha's as he was walking slowly away from the scene, leaving a trail of smoke behind him. The blinking light faded, keeping them relatively in the dark, as the next light source was a bit further away.
