Its obviously not for countering cruise disruptors because where the droppers are placed doesn't help in the slightest.
If its for missiles why would you rather them smash into the underside of your ship than the middle?
For those who don't know the CM dropper on the LSC is near the front of the sleek base on the back (Behind the big gun). The CM dropper on the LABC is actually inside the rear underside turret.
(I dunno about the Dread and the Carrier haven't used them)
If you want them to be placed somewhere where the missile hitting the counter means it won't actually hit the ship you need to place it much further back (preferably under the engine) because at the moment the item that is ment to stop your ship taking damage from missiles isen't doing its job at all.
' Wrote:They can counter CDs and novas if you know how to use them
Actually, for the former, in most times they can't if they're using a train or reinforced, because even if the CM draws away the CD, its explosion radius is so large it'll still disrupt you.
So basically the request is to have the CM hardpoint moved to the aft section of the ship, on the LABC?
Can do. Please be aware though, that any CMs other then the Heavy Countermeasure are utterly ineffective for larger ships, due to the relatively short projectile lifetime on the CM. The Enhanced CM is designed for fighters.

Its not so much how long it lasts more where the CM is when you get hit.
Considered caps are generally slower than fighters it takes a good 5 - 10 seconds (depending on your speed) for the counter to actually reach the engine bay, forget getting clear of the ship.
CD's aimed at the counter will detonate while the counter is still scraping the bottom of you hull. Meaning when it hits the counter it pretty much just hits the base of the hull.
Heavy CM has 1500 range. CMs I believe come to a dead stop shortly after being dropped. The LABC is around 200M in length and chugs along at 90m/s. So if the CM is as you say halfway across the ship, it should clear your own hull 1 second after launch. It could take longer if it is also oriented the wrong way - if the muzzle velocity is towards the front, that could cause it to fail. I'll check for both and shove that CM somewhere aft on the ship - it's where CMs belong anyway.
[Edit] Current placement was indeed rather illogical. I've moved the hardpoint to the big clamp above the main engine for 4.86, which brings it in line with conventional hardpoint placement.

Juggy has this problem too currently. Could you check to see if the updated model fixes this? (currently it launches right under the engine... meaning it brings anything it attracts straight into the engine)
Juggernaut model itself is getting a replace, making that check moot until it's tested in beta.
