1920 by 1080 - Wide Screen Problems

I have edited all the files it requests and created a new character and undocked from Pensylvania however the resolution adjustment doesn't happen with the HUD Item windows in the top and bottom of the screen.
They go off screen and I can't press the dock buttons or see everyone properly on my radar or weapons console.
Reinstalling Freelancer and loading the 4.85 mod first and then making the edits haven't helped.
I have gone into the FL Target directory in the Icon and done both the -dx and the -d 1920 x1080 for my monitor but nothing is working.

This sucks and I'm getting really depressed about this all.
Anything, anyone can suggest on what I might be missing or send me the files already edited which I can just drop in.

I have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 I am trying to fit for a 16:9 Monitor.
I've been thinking it might be something to do with my ATI 5770 Graphics card in Cross-Fire setup which might be causing a conflict or over-ride but I have tinkered in those settings and found nothing of use. lol

Install Discovery Launchpad (click here to visit the info & download page) and when you got Launchpad opened press the [!] button next to the displayed screen resolution to set it to your resolution.

To fix the navigation map, toolbar menu and the rest download and install Cannon's dsace.dll (click here for the page with the latest update of dsace.dll)

Read the info posted on both threads carefully how to install and use. But it's not difficult and works like a charm for me.

I want to say 'Thank You' to everyone who assisted me with this problem.
Followed the multitude of steps and from the looks of it the widescreen fix for 'Freelacner' seems to be working fine now.
FIngers crossed nothing will break. Ha-Ha.

I have a problem.

I fixed the navigation bar using Discovery Launchpad, but my HUD needs to be stretched horizontally. Everything vertical is proper (I can access the toolbar on the planet and it is in the right position).

I can fix the horizontal issue by modifying cameras.ini, but when I do that the toolbar (vertical) becomes improper again. I don't want to install dsace if it means I will be kicked from the server anytime it goes out of date...

Any suggestions?

try installing the new dsace.exe (look for cannon's post about it), that fixed my widescreen issues.

And reinstall the game again. When you have edited all the files inis, it will not work i guess.

Edit: New install of FL and the mod, then use the Discovery Launchpad, as mentioned above. Done. Hudshift is nice, too.
