We see the typical Liberty dread/cruiser/GB/Snub patrols. So why not put some carrier patrols in? Same as in Rhienland. Would be nice to see some variety. And how much firepower the 2 carriers would put out if NPCs.
A carrier is just toooooo large to be a NPC patrol......
we need more of these patrols at the border system maybe some hostile patrols
Oh and a carrier is just a bad capital, too large, too expensive, easy target and cant realy kill any other Battleship...
Its just good for RP or pewing smaller crafts or GB's....
I dont think that more then Cruiser patrol needed... It is not good to have NPC battleship right near Planet. I think BSs must be in guard systems.
oh, and Gamma dont have any of cap patrols like Alpha do. why dont make GB patrols for Pirates?
Corsairs has 2xOsiris patrol in Eta system, and there are enough capital ship players in Gamma.
About carrier patrols. Carrier is expensive, complex and to important ship to use it in patrol. BS and Dread 100% fullfil heavy patrol ship role near planets or strategic objects. BS and Dreads can house some fighters enough for regular patrol run. Carrier in patrols- waste of resources, crew and time. Like, after every patrol duty- ship must fly maintenance base. I think, that BS and Dred will need less time for all checks and repairs, than Carrier.
Carriers as stationary BS-base could be nice. Somewhere in Alaska, with two LABCs like in Virginia, near.

Also both Mollies, and rogues do have GB patrols.
Carrier is not only for RP. I also had 1. The Yorktown was a Carrier first before I RPd it getting damaged beyond repair, and replaced with dread. It can PvP better then Dread, it is just a pain to dock with TLs.

However some carrier patrol could be fine in roleplay at the borders of the clouds what contains pirate nests. With some fighers for example. The worst part, carriers has BS weapons. In "real life" they are protected by the aircraft not by owned guns.

And ? Then they just sit above or below the plane and do it from there.
Also, back in .85, there were enough Spyglasses, which didn't care for the NPC patrols and just shot them without taking real damage.
Variety of NPC patrols is not easy to make- someone need to make new patrol patterns and patrol routes,however it is not that hard I recon- you could use search- there was really good explained topic how to when Spazzy made patrols for Cassini.
