As the title suggests, this is a thread for all those indie games or any games that have flown under most peoples radars that deserve a little more attention, perhaps giving some of us some great new games to play! This doesn't include games like Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty or other games that have gotten ton of publicity. I'll start:

Galactic Civilizations: Twilight of the Arnor
-A great 4x Space Strategy game that feels like the civilization series and master of orion had a baby.

Avernum and Geneforge Series
-Some classic RPG's that emphasize storytelling and plot over graphics [Seriously, the graphics are terrible, but the storytelling is top of the line]

Mount and Blade
-One of the best medieval simulators ever. The lack of fantasy may turn some people off but it makes up for it with the huge amount of mods available to enhance the gameplay anyway you want. The combat is top of the line.

Your turn!

Older ones are also game, right? Those are now.

Planescape Torment - still the best story driven pc rpg I played.

Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in some countries) - Truly unique game, good story again.

Airfix Dogfighter - Whenever there's doubt about what to play on a LAN party, I share that, and everyone loves it.

Feeding Frenzy 1-2 - the best game to play on a boring class, only needs a mouse to control, and you don't need to click.

Trine 1-2 - Maybe not underrated, but I only heard about it by accident. Cool platformer.

X series (starting with X - beyond the frontier) - The best single-player space sim I played. Most didn't get trough the learning curve.

I'd say Mount and Blade and the X Series were both quite high profile and recognised. Not sure if they should be here.

I really believe if Microsoft hadn't got it's hands on Digital Anvil and Freelancer that this would be a very well recognized game. But sadly, it never got it's due.

I think Freelancer was largely unrecognized as a whole. I only stumbled on to it because of a friend who was an admin on Lancersreactor eight years ago.

Christ, it's been eight years? I'm old.

You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark.

Arcanum - best written RPG I have ever come across. Dated graphics, hilarious side quests.
