Your questions are of course understandable ones, Captain, I will try to answer as precise as now possible.
First of all, a friendly relation with another, foreign, group of people can't ever harm, especially, when that means a safer passage through one of your (seemingly) most important trade routes.
Furthermore, relations with the Lane Hackers may open you a new market within Sirius; not to forget our operatives have access to things you don't.
Also, the new situation considering Gallia, Bretonia and Liberty has drawn my personal interest and soon the Professor's ones. You might act as a source of information there, just as we can offer you intel from space you aren't as familiar with.
Another point I would like to mention is, that having a clear relationship will lead to less missunderstandings and unwanted hostilities - we both know those are only counterproductive.

What kind of information do you or your "Professeur" would like to get from said area of space? Et what kind of goods did catch your attention which you think could be at our disposal?
What kind of commodities could you provide to our traders what they cannot get elsewhere? Et what additional et useful information could you offer about Liberty et the surrounding systems?
I believe in sight of the answers to these questions The Council High Command could review your offer from a more clear perspective, et make decision about it. I hope you understand this.
