When I try to install Tuneup Util 2012, i get an error saying that it can not find the .tmp file needed and the source is located on the network drive. Why? Is it possible to fix?
Why is it happening:
The previous version of this program got screwed and I had to uninstall it manually, but deleting the folder and then all tuneup instances in the reg. I checked my reg twice for the keyword "tuneup" and "tuneup utilities" and removed all the instances that were correlating to this particular software.
I downloaded the file from tuneup's website and i still get that message.
Can anyone advise me on the situation?
2:
Something keeps breaking my Recycle Bin. It happened yesterday, so i had to repair my windows installation. It happened again today. Basically what happens is that I can't clean my Bin (that happened today). Yesterday the whole BIN disappeared. I was still able to delete the files, but Recycler was nowhere to be seen. What can cause this?
Thank you.

Download the free CCleaner it would solve your problem.

CC would clean your messed unused/corrupted registry problems however Riva Thingie is kinda useless and messy I comment just to use common XP features- your PC would run better.

you know, best you can do is install microsoft security essentials... aslong as you dont browse too much porn and dont open suspicious emails, you'll be fine..
Also
run Chkdsk on your PC..
For WinXP;
1 - start
2 - run
3 - type in: CHKDSK /f
4 - When prompted type "y" then press enter
5 - Write shutdown -r -t 00 in the CMD window(instant forced restart) and press enter
6 - when the chkdsk is done, go defrag your HDD
7 - proceed with deleted all and any unused programs
8 - make sure to keep ATLEAST 15% of the HDD where the system is free. This has to do with XP cache functions
9 - Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials... It pretty much stops whatever you risk getting from normal "safe" sites... for hardcore porn browsing, get NOD32 or something...
