The 'Vanguard' is a significant portion of the Colonial Fleet that remained loyal to their military hierarchy, rather than a civilian government they did not recognize. The Vanguard is composed of assets from all battlegroups, carriers, escorts and assigned combat craft . Though they consist mainly of military personnel, there are also several commercial and utility ships that are a part of the cause intelligence officers who chose to follow the Admiralty. The Vanguard is seen throughout Sirius and while their objectives are presently unclear, they are presenting themselves to many groups throughout Sirius, making alliances and gathering resources. The Vanguard hierarchy claims to have nothing to do with the past Colonial Republic.
The Vanguard was established by several High Command members of the Colonial Military, the reason wasn't known until Admiral Gabriel Vaughn sent a transmission across the entire Colonial population, confessing that the majority of High Command had conspired and removed the president, Colonel John Diocletian, in order to end his reputedly incompetent and tyrannical regime. Regardless their motives or merits, a self-styled civilian government emerged and fearing the Admiralty's authority, held a mock trial in which the conspirators were summarily, but in-absentia sentenced to death under high treason charges. All Vanguard personnel are the crews that stayed loyal with the Admiralty and many civilian sympathizers, who also refuse to accept a government lacking a democratic mandate which is suspected of being under foreign influence.
Main Assets
No precise manifest of Vanguard assets is likely to ever be made public. Some known major assets and bases of operations are as follows:
-Carrier Rubicon
The Carrier Rubicon was known as the Republic's flagship before the Exodus to the Coronado system. The last time it was seen in Republican hands was while it was undergoing major repair and refit at Sabah shipyard. However with the departure of the Admirality, the Rubicon went missing and is now supposedly in the hands of the Vanguard. Due to the extensive communication systems and support equipment that not even Kronos class war vessels can amount to, it is speculated that the Rubicon might very well be serving as the Vanguard's main communications and operations center. The commanding officer is unknown, and could be surmised that it is a tightly kept Vanguard secret.
-Battleship Sovereign
A Kronos class battleship, the Sovereign is the main operations center of the 44th battlegroup, which is known to have the largest and heaviest capital forces of the Vanguard. The Sovereign is commanded by Admiral Terrence Westridge, one of the known leaders of the Vanguard and is the person that put a bullet through President Diocletian head.
-Battleship Valkyrie
The Valkyrie is the second Battleship-class prototype ever being produced by the Colonial Republic. As opposed to the other prototype the Valkyrie received propulsion systems along with full operational capabilities. It initially served for dynamics and performance trials, but was later refitted to be able to commence independent combat operations. Despite various problems due to its age, the Valkyrie is the oldest Colonial Capital vessel which is still in active service. The Valkyrie and the other members of the former 41st Battlegroup serve under the command of Admiral Naia Myers.

Equipment and Ships:
Since the Vanguard is essentially the Colonial Fleet, it employs all active-duty and some experimental ship designs developed by the Colonianls to date, this covers the Eros and Nyx Fighters, the Pytho Bomber and a number of warships ships such as the Hydra gunboats, Thanatos cruisers and the Kronos battleships.
The most common weaponry used on the Vanguards vessels are Colonial weapons, however the usage of foreign weaponry is not a rare sight either due to the Vanguard's temporary lack of military hardware production facilities.

OOC Info and Recruitment:
So, if you actually read that stuff up above there..well, good for you, you just wasted your time. Now here's the real faction description, without any useless BS:
We're a group of friends, that enjoy blowing up everything with a red box around their ships. We barely care about diplomacy and politics, we're not nice, we wont show mercy. We kill, we don't waste time if the fight seems to be at a stall, we just go around looking for the next thing to kill. We do not care about anyone's feelings other than our own. We don't care if we ganked the living **** out of you with 5 cruisers against your single gunboat nor do we care if you do the same to us. We simply have fun by shooting. Just know that.
Our ingame RP consists of short, disciplined orders and acknowledgements, no BS, no talking about the weather on Leeds or having tea. We are a military based faction, we don't waste time, we get to the point and kill our enemies. If you're looking for a faction that writes poems and ****, stop reading this right now and gtfo.
Now that we have those important notes dealt with, we can continue on to recruitment. You wanna join us? Fine, we have several rules that you are required to follow at all times while in the faction, here they are:
1. We troll each other, we hate on each other but even that is all for the fun, we know when to stop and always back each other up, no real hate lasts. It doesn't matter if you hate someone in the faction and wanna join, once you're in, that hate is gone while you're in, if not, you get booted.
2. We gank, we do everything in our power to win, we're military pilots and commanders, we're not going to let ''fairplay'' get in the way of roleplay. We will gank, we will get ganked. You are not allowed to cry about it if you're going to join, you're gonna suck it up and await the next fight.
3. Insubordination. Look it up if you don't know what it is. If you show any kind of insubordination, you're kicked, period. It doesn't matter if your orders feel wrong or are wrong, you follow them. The words of your commanding officer are the words of god.
So, there you are, three rules. If you can follow those rules and still want in, then contact us ingame, any =VG= tagged ship will do, they'll forward you to the people. If not ingame then directly either myself (Soul Reaper) or Panzer over Skype. Our skype profile names aren't hard to find.
' Wrote:Is this supposed to work as a feedback thread or just information?
The generally serve as both unless explicitly separated.
' Wrote:How you guys going to interact with the CR| group?
I think they'll eventually try and do something about our 'illegal government', likely when the elections run at the inRP end of President Connors' interim term. For now, it's likely to be cold-hearted talking and arguing about the running of things, but we will (and have) fought our enemies together.
I've interacted with you guys... three times now. All three times were completely undesirable, and I wasn't even being shot at by you. Bringing three solaris gankcruisers into the middle of a fair fighter fight, with little to no role-play engagement notices? If you want people to support your faction... Panzer, straighten up your in-game attitude.
There will likely be some Comm threads to see where we stand, and then see how it goes.
I don't have any plans to turn our ships against you, unless you really deserve it. Don't think we have enough bombers to deal with your caps though...
Just shouts of "<strike>Summers</strike> Connors loyalist!", "Dictator-lover!" and the like for now.
