CR|'s aims are more political as well as military. While we are fighting a war, the bulk of the Colonial Republic is also trying to rebuild from economic collapse - were expanding our nation as a people, and as a fighting force.
=VG= is the core of the old admiralty, doing what they do best - killing the enemies of the republic.
In a lot of ways, somewhat similar to how the different makeup of the corsair official factions have varying goals but all work toward the common ascendancy of the corsair people - thus are CR| and =VG=
We don't intend there to be a civil war, nor a jockey for power. At the moment, both sides stand apart, but together - united in the sense were both colonial, were both fighting for our lives in an uncaring sirius - but apart because the =VG= do not follow what they consider to be an illegal government.
How the roleplay develops between both sides is interesting.
I'm looking forward to how it all evolves. Because, though we may be different, were all the people of crayter in our hearts.

We used to pull the "they're under the command of the rogue Admiral Warlords" excuse when indies do stupid things, we'll see how that goes now...:D

They get all the fun of fighting as a Colonial ID without having to care about politics (in and out of RP) or Forum RP. Just how they like it I assume.

Took the words out of my mouth. :ylove:
We're still a smallish bunch of non-Sirians, we're more interested in sticking together than wasting what little we have over petty reasons.
I'm wondering why the old CR was disbanded if the same leaders and such were only going to reform it and continue on in the fashion that made the old CR one of the more hated factions on the server.
While I'm a fan of role playing and I have no issue with ganks (because everyone does it regardless of what they say), I'm not fan of the 'we don't care about other people's fun' statement as if applied (and we all know it will - the old CR did it too) - it will only lead to hatred and drama.
I'm not even going to mention that the base idea behind this group dies if Dane's CR becomes official due to Faction Rights. I don't see Dane trying to cut you off (unless given good reason), but Dane won't always be around and different people have different agendas and motives.
Have fun though. More peeps to pew pew is never a bad thing (yes, you text role players - pew pew is role play).
So far I've run into you once, you invaded Kyushu with Solaris cruisers, then ran back to T23 and docked on Java of all places when the KNF battleships came rolling in.
If you're going to do cap-heavy I suggest bringing a couple fighters and using anti-cap loadouts on your cruisers.

And not burn IMG while they are at it.

We didn't exactly plan to return. Not for 2 years at least. But Reaper came up with the idea after I wrote the 'epilogue', and we ended up agreeing to it.
The statement is true throughout Disco regardless if Reaper says it or not.
Naaaah. I doubt it. We lasted months with 5 people alone. If anything, things are a lot more fun if it turns into a 'few vs many'. I was all for civil war, because I feel like the CR needs a designated enemy faction (like the eternal conflict between the Corsairs and the Outcasts). Part of which I wrote the epilogue that way. But if the other 4 don't see it like this, for now we'll just gank around I guess.

I'll answer that one.
Not everyone in =CR= Command wanted the disband, few did actually, and some were even inactive. I myself was against it. And as for the reasons..
We were hated because we didn't care about what others thought, I still don't, nor will I while I'm in a CR-based faction. Every time we tried to please someone, the fun we had decreased quite a bit, and due to that, our activity times decreased as well. Every single time. Whether it was trying to play nice with bretonia or kusari, trying to ''play fair'' and not using caps, something bad always happened and we always came to the brink of total inactivity. Just before the =CR= was disbanded, something like this happened, along with some other reasons (you can check the disbandment post that Rommie wrote), and that time it actually did break,we as the High Command voted and disbanded.
Now, whenever the High Command voted on something, that was that, even if it was a wrong decision, we went with it, and that's why the CR was disbanded. I mostly blame myself for that because I didn't take the initiative of riling up the faction and taking down the HC members that had voted yes, and continuing a bit different from there on (used to have an idea of turning into an unlawful nation (like the casts/corsairs)).
So yes, that's the reason that this time, there will be no fairplay or useless politics. Just hardcore military roleplay. And this time instead of taking the backseat in Command like I used to, I'll be calling quite a few of the shots and I will not let us make the same mistake of limiting the fun we're having.
