I have noticed since my return to the game that the Maruader fighter available in Port Novo has had its model changed. The original marauder was quite obviously modelled on the cylon raider from the original 1980's battlestar galactica series. My question is, is that model still available in game under a new name? And if not, who do i have to sleep with to get it returned? I personally believed that ship to be the best looking fighter in disco, I was always receiving positive comments from people who saw it and I would like to give a big thumbs up to the designer for a great piece of work that was sadly little known and hence little used. Bring it back NOW!!
Ok so who owns those rights? And are they into any kinky stuff?
Yeah I guess that makes sense to remove it then. A shame though, really was a great looking ship. And with PvP skills as good as mine, ship performance is irrelevant...........I suck no matter what I fly Still, thanks for the response

If you did want to get hold of a copy of the model, you could download an older Discovery release and pull the appropriate files from the mod. You could then incorporate it into your own copy of the game for single player and private server purposes only.
Not an ideal solution, but the best we can really offer, unfortunately. As the other guys have said, all import ships are being phased out slowly but surely.
It's not always due to copyright although that is a factor. We're looking to create an entirely immersive and original universe, so that's why we'll always try to use assets produced by our own people over outside sources.
No, copyrights are the main issue (at least when I got the request to remove all the imports). Last thing this community needs is to be sued by Warner or Lucasarts or something like that... So yea, the cylon raider, viper and other imports are all being phased out. At some point even the admin Battlestar model will have to change.
