There is BARELY enough from what I remember. Though, it is possible you are I right, I still think It'd be able to fly with little or no modifications. Only thing might be its weight.....
"Look at the wings. The ship's wings go forward not back and at an angle that would doom flight capabilities of atmospheric fighters."
Well, we cant tell if that thing can fly as we have no real knoledgement on aerodynamics science...
Forward angled wings gave the X-29 a great maneuverability. But those also made it too unstable to fly it in combat without computers to control the planes.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
hate to spoil the rave, but jet fighters barely evven NEED wings, there basicly flying bricks, ur engine dies and u fall lik a stone, the wing provide bugger all. except during takeoff,
and forward wings such as the ravenclaw woul be a PERFECT angle, the pointyness would reduce drag and there would probably be fighters comming out that look like it soon anyway
and i know because im getting my diploma in aero-engineering so i can work for the RAF
Yeah, ok we discussed wing design. Thats nice. Still i stood up for the fact that those ships aren't FL...
P.s. Discovery channel is a good program. At least from there i know for sure that forward angle wings work, and do even a better job than normal. Besides one of the planes (if not both) can change the angle of the wings dinamicaly - so when reaching top speed the angle is smaller, than when flying low with small speeds - then the angle is significantly increased.Overall this gives stability , but needs good on-board computer. (anyway there is no fighter in nowadays that can fly mannualy wihtout no computer interference - f-22 lightning cant do a thing without its comps).
So anyway (got carried away) slippy, raven and talon just look like normal atmospheric fighters (just look again at the models and ull see the openings for the air-stream into the turbo-engine). Thats all. If u want to compare new ships - well look at the design of thos 3 and lets say the RH bomber. Yeah i know - the bomber is right on its place.
"Comm. Adama:
-Starbuck whadda 'ya hear?
Starbuck:
-Nothing but the rain sir!
Comm. Adama:
-Then grab your gun and bring in the cat!
Starbuck:
-Boom , boom , boom!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
My characters: - =BSG=Starbuck ; Maj. Kara Thrace(fighter pilot)
- =BSG=Galactica ; Commander Lee Adama(Battlestar)
- =BSG=Helo ; Lt. Karl Agathon (bomber)
- Colonial 795 (trader)
well the Ravenclaw is kind Space Like-ish and it has 4 wings if u change the view too topside it has 4 wings total and the 2 i new i mentioned is allmost in a 90 degree angle
whiche would result in the plane being torn apart in Real life
Maybe it's right, that two or three ships don't fit for a 100% to the game.
Well I'm new to this server but I played on a couple of mod-servers - so maybe I should know what I'm talking about.
Regarding other servers, I need to say that I don't mind two or three ships that do not really fit. (other servers are full of this sh*t)
They were taken, maybe as a test, maybe to give the possibility to enforce roleplay.
Other mods have an increased number of ships, an increased number of systems and after two weeks, the player is bored, cause every guy you meet flys the same ship (a problem of TNG-servers - where the balance of the ships is just for "throw it away...")
Watching this server, I see ppl. using nearly every ship available - huh? never seen before, except the micro-vers. 1.0.
Congrats - that shows a great and intelligent work of balance.
The traders surely use the train mostly.
As the prices for the ships are (pooh) quite high.
But there are some ppl (roleplayers) that might say: I want a transport (or other ship) that looks like one man can fly - I don't want to have a ship where you need (thinking in reallity) two or more ppl.
So keep the number of freighters and fighters.
Everyday, a new idea for roleplay is born - it would be worst if our server couldn't offer the stuff for it.

1) The Talon is not 'fine'. It's a fighter Jet. NOT a spaceship.
2) The 'angle of wings' thing. Wrong topic to discuss that.
3) Raven claw is NOT FL-ish either.
The Damned is right, more equipment and less unbalanced ships.
Oh and the huggy could do with a more FL-ish texture.
Thank you Lorimbur ... For a refreshing look at the mod. Come on the rest of you,
don't complain too much. It could obviously be much worse. We seem to have it
pretty good here.
