' Wrote:Umm? You break RP to say you are leaving, so what, the attacker does not have to let you escape! Escaping a battle is within RP, you dont announce your out of it OOC, what you do do is say "This is too much!" or similar and attempt to escape, either you do or you die, the people you are fighting are certainly within their rights to keep on firing at you.
Hitting the nail on the head, Spear.
I hate it when I'm in a dogfight, or any fight for that matter, and once I've finally got him down to hull damage he completely breaks RP by going "//Uh i'm fleeing lemme go". Give me a break, mate. Whether or not who started the fight, you can't expect that Malak. I'm personally totally open to fleeing messages- hell, I'll totally play along now and then- just don't break RP and wuss out because you don't want to have to buy new ammo and RP cargo.
Sorry if that was a little harsh, but seriously, this topic is worthless...
By someone agreeing to that you are able to say you got away from them.
Many people for In Character reasons do not want people to flee from them. Either you give into their demands or they kill you. Allowing someone to successfully flee is a very bad thing for many factions.
What pirate want's to be known as "Captain Incompetent The Pirate."
Now by stopping and letting this fellow all but totally destroy you and then him showing mercy at the last moment and "allowing" you to leave. That is a much better reputation for a pirate to have. In my opinion.
If you want to flee, earn it. By actually fleeing and getting away.
If your in a fight and have to leave for RL reasons. Just stop and let yourself be killed. Go put your shoes on. Then come back and logoff.
It really bugs me when folks are like, "OMG YOU DON"T UNDERSTAND!! I HAD TO LEAVE THAT VERY SECOND!!" Pleeease...
My god. Most folks on here are kids. Not on call trauma surgeons.
Moreover, the pirate seemed to have gotten exactly the reaction he wanted. Next time you encounter him with your trader you probably wont just dismiss him and think you can just fly by like he is not there.
OK, i just had some Real life problems that day, i have made a mistake by posting this here, it was meant to flame the player for something that was doing in RP. i am sorry to everyone this has offended and/or made you see me a less of a player. Again, I am very sorry.

Some people WITH kids really do have to leave, right then and there.

Good man. Saying sorry makes you more of a player in my eyes. I spoke rashly with a new player as well recently, so I can't say much. Just owning up is what fixes all.

Good on you. Apologies, when you've done something wrong, are always the best way to end problems and earn respect.
EDIT:
Dieter; you speak much truths.
I, myself, have youth and must leave on-the-fly at times.
