Well, things were decidedly slow in the Tau's so I took the oportunity to join up with one of the QCO lads, William Burns to be precise, to remove a Rogue from Bretonian territory. We were seriously outgunned, him being in a Gunboat and us in our Templars without a shield buster between us. Still, we decided to engage, to try to bully the devil out.
That was my mistake. Those shields are extremely powerful, and despite our best efforts we could barely dent them. To cap it all I took a broadside in a moment of distraction and my ship bought it. I was able to eject and was tractored in by a passing trader who was on his way to Harris.
Somehow the comms unit on the pod survived the eject process and I was able to pass my apologies for the poor showing on to William, just as he was joined by a member of the SF (SFF-Ronny). Sadly, they were unable to drive the rogue from Cambridge and SFF-Ronny was forced to retreat. I don't know the fate of William, however, as my comms unit failed. He was still engaged at the time. I hope to see him in space again.
The lesson, my friends, is not to engage a superior enemy without sufficient, and suitable, firepower. I have learned this the hard way, and I humbly suggest you learn from my mistake. I, for one, most certainly will........
.......and get hold of some anti-shield hardware. God knows, we needed it.
Right, ladies and gents, regarding our identification papers.
Apparently the Kusari can't read a legitimate Bretonian Letter of Marque, it being written in rather complex legal terminology. Also, the citizens of our fair land seem to think that this document means that we have zero authority in our space. Well, they're wrong.
From now on, leave your Letters of Marque, your Mercenary IDs, at home.
All ships must now mount Bretonian Armed Forces IDs, instead.
Captain Stuart authorized the purchase of my bomber, but was busy and could not assist me with the purchase. He also said if I felt impatient, I could ask you to help. Can you assist?
Ha! Starkey and I decided to test his new Challenger bomber out on a little Privateering run this fine evening.
En route to Kusari, we encountered a trader in a small vessel, who paid a fee of 150,000 rather readily, all too pleased to aid Her Majesty.
Later, we came across one *Vampire*, flying an Advanced Train laden with 4,995 military vehicles.
Well, he kept trying to give us the slip, in spite of Starkey's good eye, and he even managed to dock on the Battleship Nagumo as it lay down suppressive fire upon us.
Well, after some convincing that sitting on the Nagumo doing nothing whilst Starkey and I lay siege to it would yield him zero profits, the gentleman acquiesced to our demands. He accompanied us back to Glasgow Outpost where he deposited the armaments, the Rheinland built Schattenpanzers.
Right now, the trader in question is hauling Boron for the folks on LD-14. It's operations like this that managed to halt the Kusari advance in the Taus!
