The transport rattled through the open space. Its engines purring as it went on it's merry way. Unknown to the crew, amongst the cargo of tin cans was a great treasure, a treasure to one man. His name was Peaches.
[color=#FFCC99]Peaches was a man of loyalty, recently to the highest bidder, but it was loyalty none the less. The past few months the highest bidder had been a one beautiful Baila Moreno, she had risked so much for him. Betraying her roots just to be by his side. Everything was going so well between them, but unknown to them at the time, they were being watched. Every move the pair took, a shadow would be waiting, knowing what they were doing. Baila's father knew of her traitorous thoughts with her Peach, going against everything that he had taught her. She had been through hell and back for Peaches, and now it was time for him to show that he would go through the same for her. Show he was willing to put his life on the line and risk everything they have just to be with the woman he loves.
In the hold, Baila awoke from a deep sleep, a dream of her heart breaking had awoken her, losing her Peaches was the last thing she wanted to happen. But she felt the time was coming when they had to say their goodbyes forever. What she didn't know is that his heart beated in rhythm to its own song. The sound of war drums rung in his ears, that sound wouldn't stop until she was in his arms again. Forever.
The bar aboard Freeport Nine was a busy place, people from all corners of Sirius gathered there to do trade or just to catch up. Peaches was sat in a dark corner waiting, he had been there for over an hour when the people he was waiting for walked into the bar. Four hooded men walked to Peaches' table and sat down. They brought the hoods down to reveal their faces, etched deep into the scars were serious looks, one would almost say concern.
[color=#FFCC99]"Melon, Plum, Banana. Not forgetting Kiwi, of course. It's been a long time since we worked together. Good to see you all." Peaches said in a hushed tone.
"A long time? Hell we haven't seen each other since that job in New London, and even then we didn't really see each other to catch up."added Melon, playfully.
"True, but we're not here to catch up now either. We have a job to do. This time from me."Peaches' voice became shaky with emotions.
"Yeah, sorry boss. You know he was only playin'."Said Kiwi as he put his hand on Peaches' shoulder.
"Alright boys, lets just get to business, okay? I have a life of my own now. I wouldn't have even come if it wasn't for the fact you're my family."
"Banana is right you know, we all lead out own lives now, lets just get down to business."
"Sorry guys, she just means hell of a lot to me. She has abandoned her roots just to be with me. I need to get her back, I can't do without her. The months we have been apart have been hell. But no more. She'll be back in my arms soon enough."
"What's the plan then, boss?"
"The plan is simple. A Transport is coming into this very station in the next few days. Baila said she was in a transport full of tin cans before I lost contact with her. All the others have been clear so far, this is the last one. She must be on board. If we don't manage to get on board and take the ship, she'll be lost unless we find out the delivery route of the ship. But if she is found... Well we all know what 'sairs do to stowaways."
"Not to worry boss, we'll manage to get on there. When is the ship expected to land?"
"To be honest, I have no idea except it's in the next few days. But it's a Correo freighter, can't be to many of those things coming through here, being so close to Gamma an all."
"We'll find it regardless. We all know how much she means to you. We're going to get her back for you, boss."
"Cheers guys, I don't know if I have ever said this before, but it's great working with you all."
"Holy hell no! Don't go soft on us now, boss! Everything we've been though together! Sheesh. But yeah, as soon as we see it, we strike?"
"Not until the final person arrives... We need her."
The Fruity Five sat there in silence for a while until some small talk got going between the guys. Peaches was to busy looking at the door and all who entered to be worried what they were saying. All he wanted was his Baila and even if it killed him, he would have her once again. He had proposed after all. He had to have her back. So all he could do was wait...
She never liked the Nine. The smell. It was wrong. Too alive, too sunny.
Too many people. So wrong for this place.
Kalliste Silver, or just Silver, as she was known, walked into the bar and immediately spotted Peaches.
She nodded in greeting, and walked to his table.
Silver eyed the men that were sitting with Peaches, and she didn't recognized any of them.
The small talk went silent as she sat and looked at Peaches.
"I'm here. What ya need, Peach?"
She lit up the cigar that was dangling in her mouth, why she waited for the answer.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:12:00] Traxit: this is smut stop
The men looked at her as she sat, only Peaches was the not to stare. He had eyes for another woman, one which needed his help. One he could never let down. Not now, not ever. He was coming for her.
[color=#FFCC99]"Good to see you, Silver. Sorry to call you at such short notice... But if this goes Melons up, we're going to need guns. Lots of guns... Make them big ones. And since I know you specialise in what I require, you were the first I thought of. Since Baila is going to be a Reaver one day as well, you do have a stake in her life. That surely must be more valuable than money." His saddened, deep eyes looked at her for a moment without blinking, before looking down at his glass.
Before Silver could talk again, the vocal onslaught from the other four men had started, each one trying to prove something to her and at least get her number. A few minutes passed until Peaches looked up again, he had taken enough of this.
"That's enough, you know why we're here."
They all looked at him with a look that screamed scolded child.
"We were only having a bit of f..."
"She's here... Or close! I can... Can feel her!"Peaches cut in.
"How can you be sure? This is just like that time in Liberty, saying the target was there... And we all know what happened that time."
The four men looked at each other before standing up and walking out of the bar, leaving Silver and Peaches at the table.
"Silver... I didn't want to say this infront of the guys but there is something I must say. If this goes wrong and while we're aboard takes us anywhere near Gamma, if we can't take control of the ship and pilot it away... I need you to shoot it. We'll do our best to get to the pods but if not, just make sure Baila gets out okay. Will you do this for me?"
Peaches looked at her, the once tough man now showing his heart as tears welled up in his eyes. He could feel his Baila, they would be together soon. And he was right, she was close, very close. The little transport was making it's final approach to Nine.
But the question was, would he be able to save her?
[color=#FFCC99]Peaches was his name,
Leeches was his game.
He didn't care how he killed,
'cus blimey, he was mighty skilled!
He would save his wife to be,
She was the love of his life, you see.
For they had to plan a marriage,
So he had come in a little white carriage.
Oh Baila, he was so close,
The 'sairs were about to get their own dose.
While Baila was floating around between the freighter's cargo,
she couldn't help from feeling slightly desperate.
What's gonna happen , will they save me, what if I'm found ,
and many other questions were haunting her mind.
The loud monotone cruise engine sound
combined with the fear of being discovered made it impossible to sleep.
Suddenly the engine noise stopped.
Baila recognised the sound, the engine was cooling down.
She knew this could only mean one of two things.
The ship was either preparing to engage in combat, or initiating docking procedure.
She then felt a familiar shock wave and smacked down on the floor ,
together with all the previously floating cargo.
Gravity....
The sudden change told her they docked at a space station....
The transport he had hunted for so long was now in his grasp, he could reach out and touch it, quite literally. Peaches could feel that his beloved Baila was so very close, in a matter of minutes he would have her in his arms once again, but this time for good.
The hangar where the transport sat was silent, a single guard sat at it's boarding ramp with his back to Peaches hiding place. The rest of the Fruity Five were waiting on the other side of the vessel, ready for him to take the one guard down, they thought it only fair as they were only there to help Peaches.
The end of the cigarette lit up in the gloom, Peaches, now feet away from the Corsair, draws his Carbon Fiber Meat Tenderizer from his belt. With one smooth swing to the back of the guard's head, Peaches had tenderized his skull for a nice little barbecue. "Well he should have known smoking was going to kill him one day. All clear boys. One 'sair tenderized, no visual on any others." With the all clear given, the rest of the Fruity Five moved towards the boarding ramp, the point of no return had just been and gone, they were going in.
[color=#FFFF00]Banana counted down from five in a hushed tone, at zero the five of them advanced up the ramp, weapons raised. For an unsuspecting hostile it truly would have been a terrifying sight, but luckily for the guard on the access corridor he didn't see them. In fact he didn't see anything, or hear anything... And he never would again. Kiwi quickly dispatched him with a Potato Press to the groin, if he ever woke up again, he certainly wasn't going to have kids.
"Plum, Banana and Kiwi, you three take the Captains quarters and the bridge. Melon, you're with me. We're going to take the crew quarters and the cargo hold." The four looked at Peaches and nodded in confirmation of their objectives. This was it, and they weren't holding back.
Peaches and Melon took it slow through the crews quarters, but to their surprise they didn't find anyone, they took this to their advantage and swiftly moved to the entrance to the cargo bay. When they reached the door the sound of gunfire echoed up from the passage they had just come from, it sounded like where ever the other three were, they were meeting heavy resistance. With this in mind they opened the door to the hold, it creaked on it's hinges, the sound echoed through the dark hold. The two flicked on their torches and surveyed the large condemning space. The place was full, full of what looked like tin cans, hundreds, thousands of them. They took a few minutes to search among them but to no avail, Baila wasn't there.
"Damnit Melon! She isn't on here! She must be up with the other guys!"
"Looks that way, come on, we can catch the end of that little hiccup."
The two headed towards the door once more, from the very back of the hold there as a scrabbling noise, they both looked around and started advancing towards it. All of a sudden the beautiful Corsair lady who Peaches had fallen for emerged from the cans...
"Peachy... Is that really you? Are you here for me?" She looked at the floor and started to weep, tears now flowing from her eyes, she didn't know if she was dreaming or her love had actually come for her.
Peaches said nothing and rushed towards her, scooping her weary, tired frame up in his arms. "I'm going to get you out of here, I promise." he whispered in her ear.
As Melon followed the corridor they had come down just moments ago, Peaches followed closely behind with Baila unconscious in his arms. They rushed to the boarding ramp where Peaches struck up his comms unit. "Fruity Twist, Fruity Twist, this is Fruit Loops, do you copy, over?"
The comms garbled for a bit then Kiwi's voice came through, "Fruit Loops, this is Fruity Twist, we hear you. Got heavy resistance up here, do you have the package? Over."
Peaches smiled at the sleeping Baila, "We've got her, waiting at the boarding ramp for exfil."
"Copy that, Fruit Loops. Coming to you now."
There was an almighty explosion from the direction of the bridge, moments later team "Fruity Twist" as they liked to be called emerged from the engulfing black smoke that was pouring down the hallways. Now reunited the Fruity Five got the hell off of the ship before more 'sairs could appear and show their appreciation for the makeover on the ship.
They ran all the way to their waiting ship where they were whisked off faster than an omelette could be beaten...
Baila awoke to the sound of a throbbing engine, one different to the Tin Can ship. At first she thought it had all just been a dream until she looked in the corner of the little room to find Peaches sat in a chair, fast asleep. She went over to him, kissed his forehead and stroked his hair before whispering "Sleep my Guardian Angel, sleep." Now they could start their life together, and finally arrange their marriage. Together again, they would always be happy with each other.
