The missile could be one that has a very high chance of hitting, but does little damage. Kinda like if a CD and a missile had a baby and mounted it on a turret.
This thing already exist, well i tried it on a tridente once (on the 2 slot that only shoot backward) its not missile but missile turrets, which is about the same, I wasn't that bad , but tricky to use with the rear view.
On smaller ship, the mine should be an appropriate alternative, or even quick engine kill spin.
It has two class 10 turrets that fire nearly backwards. To use them effectively, be thrusting away from your enemy - then suddenly hit reverse as you fire!
The missile you fire will now travel at its normal speed - and your enemy must either evade or cop a missile in the face.

fixed that one for you
' Wrote:Light fighters could ccd the missile just like a mine so it stays balanced.
you are roughly 500m away from who you are shooting, traveling at 200ms, and you think its possible to CD a missile also coming towards you at 200ms giving you just over a second to target the missile, shoot the CD, and hope it doesnt spaz out and completely miss like most cases?
Mines are the backwards fireing missiles. Their EMP version is the Screamer, the homing missile is the Ripper and the "Cannonball" is the Nuclear one. So please don't make it harder on the poor light fighters. They lack better shield and guns just so they can be faster. If we have thease missiles... they're screwed.
