"Not bad" said Jimmy as he slipped into the chair opposite "just don't get anythin' too complicated, I've seen some real horror stories from this bar lemme tell ya." He fished a cigarette out of his pocket and lit it.
"I had a look at that job you did for Nomak, you aim high Jasper no doubt about that and considering your head ain't attached to one of his ships I'd say you've done good. So heres the million credit question..." Jimmy took a quick drag, exhaled and continued "Whats your angle?"
Ted entered the bar, pausing for a moment at the threshold, he looked uncomfortable wearing the suit he had on, the jacket appeared to be one size to large for his frame. Looking over area Ted noticed Jimmy with another stranger at a table on the other side. He made a motion to the bartender signaling for his drink to be made and he approached the table. "Miss me?" Ted cracked to himself and took a seat next to Jimmy "Don't worry, I showered before I boarded."
"Hey Ted, 'bout time you figured out how to use a shower without a gun to your head." Jimmy said grinning "This heres Jasper, the new guy I was tellin' you about last time. Jasper this is Ted, the "every dirty job" guy but mostly just dirty."
Eh how's it going? Jimmy and I here where talking about my deal with the Commune. So Jimmy my angle huh? Jasper gives a smirk. Well ya see I used to sling cardi back in my hoodlum days but have recently been into running arms for anyone willing to pay. Not saying I won't pick up an odd job here and there but you get where I'm going. So ya can say I'm looking to join a crew, whatta ya say Jimmy? He grabs his Liberty Ale drinking the last of it then raising his glass for another.
Ted giggled for a moment "Gotta have a name, see ol' Ted here is the Tweaker, Jimmy is the Rat, and our ever lovely Hostess, who currently is avoiding her namesake." Ted glanced around and momentarily looked frightened, "We still own this place right Jimmy? I don't have to pay for my drinks? I didn't think to bring my wallet."
The Tweaker huh? Jasper give an intrigued look then locks his eyes back to Jimmy. I have been thinking of a name, I'm particularly fond of "The Ghost". That's if Jimmy here thinks I'm ready for the Pack.
Jimmy rolled his eyes "Yeah we still own the joint Ted, and it ain't like you pay for your drinks anyway. Remember the bar on The Ring? You drank the place dry and pulled your roadrunner act, and that time on the Golden Dragon..." he recited, counting down finger by finger "Manhattan, Barrier Gate, that joint in Inverness and Arranmore."
Turning away from Ted who had suddenly become interested in his drink he faced Jasper "You've got the chops for it and if you wanna be called the Ghost its your deal, just expect a lot of mooks to be laughin' at you. Once you get a handle you ain't changin' it capiche?"
Jasper snickers at Jimmy. Hey the name may be strange but in the end its the man behind it and what he can do. So got any work? The Commune hasn't contacted me for anything as of yet, also I got a interesting encrypted attachment the other days which says "The Confessional" ya know what that is Jimmy? Jasper takes a sip of his ale.
"Whatever you say Casper" Jimmy grinned "And the Confessional is a little project of ours, somethin' low-key you know? Lets those who can find it get anythin' they want without screamin' from the rooftops, plus it adds a little to our income. Ain't got no bites yet but it will soon enough."
He nudged Ted in the ribs "So what d'you think, he good enough for the Pack?"
Ted looked over the potential member while signaling the bar for another drink. "Jasper the grasper casper; I like it" Ted downed the rest of his drink before continuing "Welcome to the family."
