It means that that multiple models use the material file and I need to make sure that all models look somewhat okay when I edit the textures of the Pelican. The civilian trains for example use that file, too.

Yes. See first post. Tell me what you want and I'll look up what material files it uses, then I'll tell you the cost (300.000.000 Credits for a model that uses only one file, 1.000.000.000 for shipline files) and if you want it, I'll add it to the to-do-list.
I had to do some recovery work on my dev version of Discovery, thus I didn't get to do much the last two days. However I tested Kaze's Nyx Reskin with the rest of the Crayter fleet and got this nice picture.
The reskin works nice with the snubs, as they get a smooth surface, however it doesn't look well on the rather edge-y and cornery capital ships of the Crayter line. The models placed there are having the wrong turrets and the Zephyr doesn't even have them.
Next steps are finetuning of the engine glow, windows, interior and the hangar shuts. Interesting about the current skin is the fact that the Lone Star and the front sharp edge color are only visible when it is dark. The brighter the area, the less intensive the color will be.
