If anything, you will make people leave if they see their favourite systems have been removed. Same for removing factions. Stop trying to fix things by removing content.
All those random Omegas and Omicrons. Reduce the amount.... Will have a big impact on activity. Why are there so many Taus and Sigmas? They are empty most of the time. Get rid of them. Kusari... has been on life support for years... why are there a bunch of tacked on systems?
Shrink some systems so it doesn’t take ages to get anywhere. Doing nothing isn’t the answer. Adding more space while player counts drop isn’t the answer.
Gallia has and always be the biggest mistake this mod ever made.
Players not damn a liquid or elemental particles. Whatever you assume in your head, but they not just randomly scattered by systems by Brownian motion to use this stupid assumption LESS SYSTEMS MORE CHANCE FOR INTERACTION.
Players have their personal preferences and interests. They unite in factions by this preferences, and they play in systems which fit to their interests. You can't really force them play with you in same corner. Instead - more amount of corners mean more place for somebody developing, interesting interactions which drive players in game.
When you start remove systems, you just take place for exlporing for those who love exploring and they stop log, When you start stuck people by heads, you just force stop log those who dont love so rail-roaded ways.
I dont understand, why so many speaking about connections overhaul about chokepoint systems, and constand lack of attention to INNER SYSTEM DESIGN. Damn men, this game happens inside system map, not on global map. You should keep both components in head, maybe then it will work. Otherwise it just deleting systems for nothing.
P.S. What i mean, short distance between holes or their easy accessable and good design of routes and hubs inside systems - it what make connections joyable, not only way how you link it on global map, because you could connect 3 system in way how you think it good, but if holes inside mid system placed on 100k distance its not help. Or you can make chokepoint system by connection means, but if inside this system in 10-20k stays neutral base, all sense of choke point turn in ruins. This mistakes in systems inner design and constant underdeveloping of them is real reason why some regions so bad, not just connections way.
Everyone has there pet systems that they like... no one likes to loose something, but when it takes 15 to 20 minutes to get somewhere or you have zero chance at running into a trader because of the a dozen systems and different routes they can take... that is a buzz kill.
Your opinion is worthless if you want to ruin the game for anyone else just because you're too lazy to set up a ship to be stationed somewhere else than your home system. I rather see you stop logging and leave Discovery than you getting your will by risking to make someone else leave.

Looks like I touched a nerve... Oh boy... Who hurt you???
It’s my opinion and a idea. Take it or leave it as such. It’s not like one of my factions or ships that I’m flying is suffering from inactivity.

Deleting Omicron Chi to make a Delta <> Xi connection is no different to just leaving the system in the mod and swapping the current Chi hole for a Xi hole. Think of it that way.

And again, you absolutely not understand main factors here. In really there NOT DOZENS routes. Always like 1-2 real routes, all other just fiction. You mainly have zero chances to catch trader not because of big system amount, but because there
1. Lack of really interesting trade routes or trade options.
2. Small numbers of pirateable non-organised traders, because not everybody play trader. There enough of faction traders, but i guess you just have no wee-wee to pirate convoy, so try play in pirate faction.
3. Bad systems design, when there literally exists systems, supposed to be chokepoint, but have 20k-30k from Jump Gate to Station.
But in really, those who want pirate interactions just play game and study most powertrading routes and know where set ambush to get this interaction.
P.S. Just to make clear - when we setted ambushes with friends, we dont had problems with catching traders. ALso traders factions players mostly want interact with pirates, just playing solo its boring, and they fly in convoys to make it less dull. Intercept this convoys not hard. If you havent firepower to deal with them in solo - call friends.

As a Massive pirate If I was a jerk and made it not fun for traders I would find myself quickly bored because no one would want to even chance an encounter with me. Same thing applies to lawfuls.
You mean like factions that log a solaris gunboat to deal with a single indie corsair bomber do?
You don't make people happy by removing what they consider fun. If you want less travel times, convince the devs to consider changing the jump hole connections to one of the many good layouts that have been presented already. Takes literally one day to make everything more accessible to snubs without effing over the trade lanes. After all we have jump holes that only work for snubs, and jump holes that work for everything except trading ships.
Your convenient "fun" is not more important than that of others. Stop being egocentric.

Except, as I said, none of the factions I play have a problem with activity so I’m just offering my opinion and an idea on how to improve. The only thing that affects me is that there are some factions or places that I’d like to explore, but since they’re dead it’s not worth the money or effort so I stick to where there is activity.
Since you’re so emotional over this I’m guessing the devs removed something near and dear to your heart?
