I simply explained what is wrong in his post, which you just now ignored.
I can find 100 gaps in the rules, just like he did with this one.
That wouldn't mean that they need to be fixed.
Common sense.

What YOU don't get is that he isn't trying to abuse the gaps. He's doing exactly the opposite. It's not about wether one can or will see the loopholes and use them, it's about fixin' one. That was his suggestion in the first post. It's not discussing, because your point and his point are totally different. YOU don't get it.
People, don't assume just because a discussion about a rule that could be used as a loophole means that person is looking for one. Eta is right, though he could definately do it in a much more polite way.
Quote:5.6 If a player engages cruise engine or docks during a PvP fight, this player is considered fleeing. The fleeing player must not enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.
Quote:5.7 A player who was killed in a PvP fight must not enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.
If the player respawns in the same system, he/she must leave the system without engaging. Other players are not allowed to attack one who is leaving.
The most important bits have been bolded.
Now, docking is considered fleeing. As is engaging cruise or fleeing from a fight in another way (such as jumping to another system or thrusting away). Now if you die and respawn in that system you must leave, as per rule 5.7. Now since fleeing considers you as dead, or out of the fight, fleeing would put you under both rule 5.6 and 5.7. You must leave per rule 5.7, and 5.6 forbids you to come back. When looking at this, remember that fleeing = dead. Not in RP, fleeing is fleeing, but as far as the rules are concerned, your dead and out of the fight.
And on the bots/batts situation, there is no direct rule about it. Its legal for say, a Blood Dragon to shoot KNF NPCs to get the bots. Its considered bad form though and shouldn't be done. However, a KNF shooting KNF NPCs would NOT be allowed, as it does not follow, in any way, RP, and can be sanctionable to kill them for bots. However, do not be screenshot happy about that situation and go reporting people for accidents. People use Nuclear Mines, and those can end up killing NPCs, friendly and hostile, and they are gonna pick up bots when that happens, even when unintentional, as its better than letting your opponent get them.
@chopper/Eta, please calm down or ignore the thread for awhile, neither of you needs to get emotional about this.

I never said he's abusing the rules. I said he's misinterpreting. And I still think he is.
I explained why in this post :
Quote:I actually agree with cmfalconer. The rule is very clear.
You can misinterpret it only if you want to do exactly that.
Rules aren't perfect, never will be.
Especially if you'r trying to understand them your way, not the way they'r written.
And, there really is no need for "F********" or similar. Thanks.
If he must not enter, then that means he must leave it as well. More words are not needed.
Quote:However, the fleeing player can re-engage at will if chased.
This also means that he can't re-engage if not being chased.
So, if you enter cruise and flee, you can't come back.
I guess you'd prefer it like this :
Quote:The fleeing player can't re-engage if not being chased.
However, the fleeing player can re-engage at will if chased.
Too many words, eh? First leads to the second, no need for both to be written.
The rule is ok because one thing pulls another. If you use common sense, you come to a conclusion that it's not allowed to flee and come back if you didn't leave the system.

I agree that the rule is a little ambiguous, but there's no need to get into a near-flame verbal battle. The way I see it, the rules state that: engaging cruise means you have to leave the system, and not come back for four hours. That's how I abide by them, flame me if you wish.

First of all, this discussion should have never taken place.
Gryph, you are arguing semantics, regardless of your actual intention. Once you hit cruise, you MUST leave.
Sure, enter implies being out of the system, but you need to leave the system, and then, the rule applies.
That is what it means. If you want to help, and not start a flame fest, actually point out something that is truly ambiguous. From what I can see, this is really just trying to look for something to post about. Unless you are posting for this purpose, you seem to be the only person on the forums who does not understand this.
