' Wrote:(...)I don't think wasting cargo space is necessarily proof of RP.
True

' Wrote:My ship has a crew..but they are on the bridge,in the engine room or on the turret controls..they don't sit around between gold and drillheads.
Yeah, that is a contradiction, if you display the crew members or other stuff.

' Wrote:Here's another viewpoint to the Fuel "issue".

Most ships are very big.

Why would trading ships designed to carry things long distances carry fuel in the Cargo bays?
Would not they put the fuel in the fuel tanks, designed to fit sleekly inside the ships hull, instead?

For battleships I can see people carrying crew.
Same good argument, too. Mhm..

' Wrote:All these are really only "atmosphere" touches. There's no hard and fast rules about them.
(And there shouldn't be. No lawyering to other people about how they have to have crew/food/oxygen/water/scientists.)
Please no extra rule on it. That was definetly NOT my intention.

' Wrote:Besides the roleplay issue of commodities I also imagine a pirate, scanning my trader and having to decide if there's any cargo on board at all, has a lot more problems in doing this while looking through a bunch of other stuff.
That is even my expirience.

' Wrote:That cuts out the 2milordais, of course (Although I have to admit, I NEVER meet those. I know only good roleplaying pirates!).
I met those in the past, but rarely. Since i have that big commodity stock, its easier to deal with pirates, most of are corrupted, and with a bottle of wine, some cardi or tobacco, the most of them show a good behavior.

' Wrote:Question about the pilots and crewmembers in the cargohold:

What happens when you're ship gets destroyed and the one who destroyed it tractors in the pilot unit or even shoots it?Or what if a pirate demands your crewmembers?

Do you Rp that out?Do you start a new charakter because the previous one died?Would be intresting...like the Hardcore mode in Diablo II.
If my trader gets destroyed, i would get angry, of course. Last it happens was months ago. I would RP it in posting something like: accident/deadly robbery - new ship/wreck repair -and waiting for it 2-3 weeks. I would be so annoyed and bored, that i couldnt have fun to re-upset my ship immidietly after getting blown up. I wouldnt delete the char and get a new, i am not that hardcore, and have not that time.

I just have crew members on my Synth Foods and smuggler ships. That's it really. I don't picture trade ships as ships that spend so much time in space that they have to keep carrying extra supplies with them. With combat ships, you would need the extra commodities.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

I only carry around what I'm trading since I fly an Adv. Train, I won't make my crew sit in the cargo pods mounted in the back and I don't know how I could get to any other supply that are placed in one of the cargo pods. Since in RP when you reach a station Heavy Lifters come and grab the cargo pods right off of your ship then stick new ones on, anything I was keeping in said pods would be taken with them.

Now that I think about it, how do transports that have no cargo pods drop off supples at stations?

you dont have to worry about your ship smelling like smoke if you use chew! If you ever see a bunch of cargo pods full of tobacco floating around liberty its because im the galactic SKOAL man and ive given out some free samples :D smoking gives you breathing issues. and it smells funny. no good. you'll never get that smell of smoke out of your cockpit.
