This topic is the closest you've come to a legitimate point in a long time.
Closest. As in not there yet.
Dying to two NPCs means either A) you're a transport in Gallia, B) you got dockraped (Gallic snicker-SNAC counts too, since you can't see or hear them), or C) problem exists between keyboard and chair.
Pretty sure everyone knows which of those this is.
Though... NPCs are still quite capable of ruining fights in some places... places that should have fair fights. Warzone systems, ironically, are the systems that need the least NPC interference... or at least zones without them. <3 Planet Tonnerre and its NPC exclusion zone. It allows PvP to occur in Gallia once the playercount drops below 150 and the NPCs turn back on. (Literally every fight in Gallia I've been in where NPCs were on and we were not in an exclusion zone has been thrown by them. Every. Last. One.)
It also appears that Outcast NPCs have dominance in the Corsair side of Eta and Corsair NPCs have dominance in the Outcast side of it... which isn't right. If there's any differences in the code, a simple swap would probably make things much better.
EDIT: Lucend, players go to Eta not to wage war on NPCs, but to do so against other players. If fights are thrown by the NPCs, then they go elsewhere to wage war... which means that Eta becomes less of a warzone.
It seems to me that the patrol paths in Eta are kinda ass-backwards - all the Outcasts hang out around on the Corsair side and all the Corsairs lounge around on the Outcast side. This wouldn't be a problem if there were any Sabres and Titans sitting back and defending their own turf. But that doesn't happen, so the warzone idea goes out the window as both sides just camp the enemy's base and mostly serve to annoy undocking players...
I mean, there's a huge minefield in the middle of the system built specifically to keep either side from invading - having Titan fleets attacking Palermo every 15 minutes just doesn't make sense.
To sum up,
Quote:Really, all I want is less enemy NPCs near bases, and no CDs on most non-Guard NPCs.
What about nerfing sabres with infernos and never ending cd's who ruins your smuggling day to Etna then you are in your p trans?
Srsly if something is needed to be done is to get rid of Corsair npc's in front of oc bases at eta and get rid of never ending oc npc's in front of etna.
Try Being a Zoner transport with no gun;s,and hostile to Republican shipping, when a Rheinland Battleship patrol pops up in front of you. BOOM!!! Makes no sense to me,when a military you are neutral to shoots you just because you are hostile to a trade company ship near by.

The fix for this is rather simple. Fix your rep with Republican.
I will say, removing CDs off the non guard NPCs would be nice. However, I've been put down by NPCs before in my trade ship. It made me mad, but I was in their space and I knew the danger, my loss. Know what I did? Went and got neutral with them. (Though this is a Corsair/Outcasts debate). If the problem is that OCs control the Sair side and Sairs the OC side of Eta..........please fix it, that is weird.
