1 v 1, these smaller ships are toast. But in a pack of say, 4, Daggers can take down any transport. It's even more fun because the transport never sees it coming and will put up a losing fight not believing he can be killed.

Well, the Dagger doesn't need to be improved because it has excellent agility. However, other ships of the same class really do have some major disadvantages.
In your example, Xoria, try Startrackers; any half-decent transport captain will pluck them all out of the sky before the shield is down because the agility of that ship is horrendous. Starfliers would stand a better chance.

I'd like to see these ships shown some love.
I would love to see Legionnaire Mk II, rather than that crap we have now as a light fighter. I hope that something bad will happen to it's designer and those who approved such model.
Legionnaire is an awsome model and lulzy ship. It should have recieved some kind of buff letting it have 4x 5 class guns in .86
When I mentioned the Baracuda, I was referring to it's abilities in relation to other ships of it's class or in and around that class, either above OR below it.
Irrespective of that however is that yes, 4 Daggers maybe able to take down a transport but what about 4 Piranha?
Can 4 Daggers take 4 Piranha?
Can 4 Piranha take 4 Daggers for example?
Why shouldn't the Piranha be closer to performance?
Why can't that Patriot stand much chance against a Dagger?
I won't talk about Cavaliers and Legionaires... (kudos Constables :P).
We all have a VHF/HF or LF we use as a preference. The one with the level 9 weapons etc.
Thats all well and good but what about the 'other' 'smaller' guys'?
Give them some love!
And @ Xoria: Absolutely. Nothing beats a Legioanire wing taking down a transport/train. Enormous fun.
The Barracuda is easily the best ship available up to its class (6). Compare it to the Wolfhound, Dragon or Anubis that are of the same class, they have appalling agility. The only grace that the Stiletto (class 7) and the Valkyrie (class 8) have versus a Barracuda is their ability to mount Debilitators, but they both have the same agility as the aforementioned.
Piranhas need more agility really, but in the right hands they can stand up to a Dagger.

I'd say it's an even contest. Daggers out-gun the more agile Patriot.
In the right hands?
I am referring to like for like. Not skilled vs unskilled. The ships should start balanced. The pilots should make the difference.
With regard to the Barracuda, I was thinking Defender, Crusader. I'd like to see a version of ships all around the HF Barracuda/LF Dagger level for each house/faction. At least the existing ships would get utilised. If that means taking a notch off the Barracuda's agility, so be it and yes, I am looking directly at the other examples you quoted as well Mortal.
With regard to the Patriot. It's agility is a bit daft really. I'd like to see it reduced and upgunned/armoured. Right now, it's practically unhittable currently. I just used it as an example earlier(in this case, a poor one).
What of the Bloodhound?
It's a lost cause on just about all fronts. Some small alterations will make it a worthwhile addition to anyones hanger and the LPI and Rogues can have endless fun shooting each other in these things.
Anyway, with regard to downgrading some ships, I have little doubt a lot of people will say 'No!" whilst others who get upgraded say 'yeah' so frankly, this is probably academic.
