First, I must explain that, no, I am not actually angry. There's no smoke coming out of my ears; I'm not foaming at the mouth; I'm not speaking profanese without a single English word; my decibel level is not higher than a jet. Readers, please do not assume that I'm actually severely upset; I'm just talking about something that everyone has dealt with plenty of times before.
__________
Don't you hate when somebody calls you a racist for saying something negative to a person that happens to be black, when you're not saying it due to the person's skin color, but due to the way the person is behaving?
For people who try to accuse me of being racist against black people just because I don't like the hip hop culture - there are wannabe gangstas of every color, if you assume I'm talking about black americans just because I mention gangstas, you're being racist yourself. Another thing: Don't accuse me of being racist for calling people "black". I don't say "African Americans when I'm talking about people who've been living here for hundreds of years, they're just as American as any white person who lives here; the only difference is skin color. When you talk about a white person who's been in a family that lived here for hundreds of years, do you call him a European American? People try to avoid being called a racist by stating the origin of ancestry for people of skin colors other than white, instead of stating the person's skin color, but really that's just being racist, because terms like "African American, Asian American, and such, were originally coined to describe a person who has immigrated to the United States during their lifetime, and has a background in another country. If I speak to a person who clearly has a Nigerian accent, then yes that person could be referred to as an African American. The only difference between most people here is skin color. There is no cultural background in other countries if you were born and raised here in the United States. It doesn't matter what a person's skin color is; they're all Americans if they were born and raised here. Also, not all black people have ancestors from Africa, so that's yet another reason that calling all black people African Americans simply doesn't fit, when you're really only trying to point out the person's skin color without saying the skin color. And people ask: Why don't we just say brown? Well, because some people have very dark skin, and it would be a pretty annoying pickle to have to figure out if a person's skin would be referred to as brown or black. Not to mention how racist a person would look in such a situation. Additionally, there are cultures all over the world with brown skin, and so that wouldn't really be very descriptive, while "black" is generally referring specifically to people with ancestors from Africa, even if their skin isn't actually black. There's more to defining ethnicity than just skin color; there are other differences in characteristics that can define a person's ethnicity regardless of skin color.
Bottom of the line: In today's world, most people do things that are actually racist in an attempt to show that they're not racist. And other stupid people gobble it up and believe the person isn't racist. Racism doesn't only apply to poor treatment. If you treat people of a certain race -better- even, just to insist you're not racist, you're actually being racist. The best way to get rid of racism is to not waste any time trying to prove you're not racist, and don't even bother thinking about whether or not you're racist. And people need to stop accusing everyone of being racist when they do something that isn't 100% perfect, to somebody who happens to be of another ethnicity. They could have simply made an honest mistake. Or, they could be treating the person poorly due to the fact that the person had done something poorly himself, and not because of any difference in skin color.
For example: In a place of service, such as a store or restaurant, ever seen a black woman go up to the counter and start shouting and cursing at a cashier, and when the cashier eventually asks the woman to shut up, after repeatedly saying "calm down, please" he'll instantly be called "racist" by some people in the room, just for telling a black woman to shut up, regardless of the fact that in such a situation, anybody would tell the woman to shut up, regardless of either person's skin color. His saying "shut up" wasn't because she was black; it was because she was yelling and cursing in a public building while there are people needing service.
In school, ever seen a black kid fail or be sent to the office, and hear him accuse the teacher of being racist, when really he's failing because he doesn't study, and is sent to the office for misbehaving, just like any kid of any color. Kids of every color can slack off and misbehave. That's why kids of every color are failed and sent to the office. Don't call a teacher racist just because you happen to be black.
And what about other races? Lots of people are publicly racist against pretty much everyone other than black people. Apparently it's okay to hate people for being "Mexican" (while eating at taco bell) or "Chinese" (while eating Chinese delivery food) (When actually the people referred to are often having ancestry from any Latin American country, or any Asian country). It also seems to be fine for people to be racist against anyone from the Middle East. I'm not going to go into the politics of the situation, but I will point out that the United States has had its share of terrorists in the past, too. We just didn't call ours terrorists. Don't hate an entire culture for the mistakes of a few. It also seems to be okay for people to hate white people just for being white, because "all white people are racist". Yeah, that generalization there is a bit racist. A lot of people hate all Germans (even though many Germans did not support the Nazi's) for killing Jews so much in the Holocaust (when they actually killed millions of other people who were not Jewish; Jewish people were not the only victims). But, somehow, people still manage to treat a Jewish person as though he is less than a man, just because he is Jewish. So, apparently, this is how people's logic works: Hate people for mistreating Jews. Hate Jews too. I guess maybe that makes sense to some.
And don't hate people just for being Mexican. They could have entered legally, or even been born here. And why hate people for "taking our jobs". If you live here and pay your taxes, you have just as much right to our jobs as we do. You don't complain when americans go overseas to make businesses around the world. You don't complain when a European comes to the United States and gets somebody's job. So it's obviously not about people immigrating into the United States and taking jobs; that's just a way for people to defend their racism.
So, please, stop calling people racist when you're racist. And if you're racist, or think someone is racist, keep it to yourself (unless somebody starts planning a hate crime, then it's time to either convince them not to, report them, or warn their target so that he can be absent at the time (don't say you're going to report them, that's the dumbest thing you could ever do).
For mods: Please, don't lock this thread. It isn't about religion or politics. It isn't about difference in culture, either. It's actually the opposite. The point of this thread is not to argue about such things, but to point out how pointless arguing about such things actually is. If you have an issue with a particular part of my thread, please PM me about it and ask me to change it.
Further explanation: Any culture spoken of during this thread is not a debate about the culture itself; it is only an example of how people are being racist. Racism happens with people of every race, towards every race, and I'm not speaking of a culture, but of people.
How do I think racism could be stopped? Stop going an extra mile to prove you're not racist every time another race is involved. And stop trying to judge whether or not a person is racist after their every action. If somebody actually does something out of racism, you wouldn't have to think "wait, was that racist?". By judging every action to see whether or not a person is racist, you actually preserve racial tension.
So, don't you hate when somebody who's racist calls you racist when you're not being racist? Talk about it below.

Nice post, Inferno. Definitely worth reading.
But yeah, that's what I do: keep it all to myself. You won't know whom I secretly hate, cus it's fine to dislike a person, or a group thereof - just don't do it in public.
