Keep having fun out there, Disco.
Completely same story
Where do you think majority of my raegquits came from? ;D

I started in late 06 early 07, when I was 13ish. I was a lolwut for a large amount of time untill I wrote Marvin James Orphelia's first biography post in 08... I know what you mean.
That biography post was so dumb, I revised it several times... You've never been sanctioned? Whew, lucky you, I've been sanctioned like 5 times, although much of those have been foruming issues.
Discovery won't go anywhere, eventually it will wither and die like most aging games do, or in a game from 2002's case, already have :L
From my rioting teens (17) up to more mature 22. Back then I was arsehole who was full of s---, not I'm just an arsehole if that's a word defining attitude.
A lot of changed, yes. But it's not like I could tie growth of me as a person with this forum, game, community or disco alltogether.
Let's see, I started playing Freelancer about ... 8 years ago, very shortly after the game was released, when I was working for the Evil Empire (aka Microsoft) as their retail rep for northern Indiana. Got a free copy of it from one of our training conventions.
Played the hell out of it in SP, downloaded assorted mods, made my own changes to things (Iis there a problem with having a cargo hold of 500,000 in SP? Really?), and put the game away for a while. Dug it out again during the winter of 2007-2008, played it again in SP, and then found the Disco mod in March of 2008. You'll note I didn't join the forums until June of that year - I played SP through with the Disco mod first, and THEN started playing multi-player after that.
Why? Well, prior to that I was convinced that most people playing multi-player were immature, incapable of holding intelligent conversations, greedy, naive, and mostly too young to actually be allowed on the internet. (Maybe the multi-player Halo I'd done with my son helped convince me of that.) Since then, I've grown and matured enough to find out ... damn, I was right all along.
In other words, with relatively few exceptions out there - and fortunately, there ARE a few exceptions out there - most of you guys on here are a bunch of immature kids that need your butts whacked, your toys taken away from you, and need to spend some time growing the hell up. Life is NOT a video game. I'm one of the relatively few people to have been fortunate enough to get a re-spawn in real life. (I died on the operating table at one point in my life.) For most everyone else - no re-spawns. And being a dick online is no excuse - treat people as you would want to be treated yourself.
Which means unless you're really into that sort of thing - and honestly, really honestly, no one that's close to stable mentally IS into that sort of thing - most of you need to treat each other better on here. You're simply using the excuse that this is just a game, or that it's just an internet game, or it's just a shooter - and trivializing the most important feature of this server.
Role-playing.
Sure, if someone thinks so little of themselves that they have to portray a 10 year old furry female admiral, let them have their little fun. But this is a science FICTION role-playing game, not a science FANTASY role-playing game. Aliens - even ones that can live in space, space ships, jump drives - that's all meat and potatoes for science fiction. Put some thought into what you're playing - don't be a wiener and be a douche.
So in the time I've played on here - I've gone from being a grandfather once to being a grandfather twice - I've gotten so much older (from 46 to 50), and I've also learned that most of you actually can't handle being corrected and treated like the ungrateful brats that you are for everything that Matt and the admin team DO actually accomplish and do for you.
