Tho i saw someone on the Lancersreactor that had the source code. But he wanted some cash for it and we refused to pay the price he wanted.
No-one on Lancet's Reactor has ever had the source code. 100% sure that'd have been a scam.
The development team / publisher / legal owners are the only ones capable of releasing the source code. Otherwise you're stuck with EXE hacks and working within hardcoded perimeters.
Admittedly, those alone can achieve some damn impressive things - see Tides of War as a good example.
Actually, he did.
Out of curiosity, how much did he want and how do you know if that was "real" deal? He released a sample or something?
I'd guess that if the Dev team had bought the source Code that way and Microsoft got wind of it.....
Let's say this Forum and Mod as a whole would have been closed faster than you can say: sanction.
“This font is good people said, this font is awesome others said, I say it works well enough to waste 2 seconds of your life reading this.”
right now - the chat is short - and you just have to write it in a fractured manner - but that gives others an easier time to read it
if you were able to write - like twice as much for example - another player might not finish reading it in time before it vanished.
if we increased the time the chat stayed on screen - it would obscure the vision - especially when many players chatted in lengthy setmsg
if we limited the space that text can obscure the screen - new text would push old text away - hence shortening the time it stays up on screen to be read.
all in all - it may not change too much - and the solution is simply to split what you want to say into more and shorter sentences.
Just before anyone else goes about posting that it's hardcoded before reading the thread or having tried modifying the EXE themselves.
I'd be for it, but I'd say only about a 50% increase from where it is presently so that I can finish off that long and wordy sentence - I should not be able to have multiple long and wordy sentences in one message line.

actually no. MS would have to prove monetary loss before being able to shut down disco. They cannot prove monetary loss - i have actually bought at least three copies of this game, and im sure others are in the same boat.
they would have to answer why other games have had their sauce code released, but not FL
and finally, disco would have a case that by providing the extended service that required the original game to be installed and a patch over the top, they are furthering the work of MS, and requiring customers to purchase copies of FL, and are therefore entitled to a percentage of the revenue from the sales of the games, as part payment for advertising and developing.
get that source code. how much did he want? my nigerian banker will require his banking details, his date of birth, his passport number, his place of birth, his mothers maiden name and details of his last transaction
If only Chris Roberts does what he promises- I highly doubt that. It is all marketing tricks to make more money actually.

new pew technique? setmsg 1 ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
and /l1 blinds everybody for 10000 milliseconds
Or maybe nomads could setmsg ascii art as part of their project-image-into-mind thingy, and it would count as RP .... so many possibilities, new rules regarding long msgs would have to be set.
But otherwise, Up the Message Length Limit please - i totally support this.
