Really, nobody will mind you saying something in german, as long as 90% of the whole sentence is in english, and it is still perfectly understandable...
I think EVERYONE knows what gutten tag means, if they dont then well :S. I see a lot of people say a german word here and there, it adds to the RP really, but a sanction hunter could report you i guess...
Well, mixing tiny bits of another language is already done on the server - such as the Kusarians greeting each other with "Konnichiwa", the Outcasts/Corsairs letting out a short "Hola" and the Rheinlanders giving their firm "Guten Tag".
If it's only one or two words that about anyone can understand - be it due to the context or because the translation is obvious or well-known - it is okay.
However, posting entire sentences in another languages is, as Laowai pointed out, against the rules.
What would you do, for example, if your character needs to say a lot - and it doesn't fit into the two lines the chat window offers you - you'd have to post the translation after the untranslated part. But in the meantime, the untranslated part would hover in system chat and people would probably be quite confused.
Maybe chat like this:
"Translator: Yadda Yadda (in English)"
That way, you signalize that what the others here doesn't come directly from your character - and you're within the rules.
Yeah Red Giant. So far I didn't have much problems with that concept. Once a pirate told me to fix my translator (I gave him some beer and sausages along with some cash, that was a good one!) .. except that.. well, no problems really.. and, as you noted, I flew a Kusari ship. My accent really bailed me out once in Leeds, against Her Magesty's battleship. So, it's nice... Everyone present realises you're at least trying to role-play, and everyone places themselves differently.

Lisa: <German Text here> Translation Com: <English Text here>
And i wanted to do it kinda like that for the story.
Is it okay writing something like that in the forum and on the server?
So long as you post the translation with the original language I don't think there'd be a problem. The main point to that rules is so we are all "role playing" and can understand each other. If we had one faction speaking only German and another only English ... all we'd have is PVP encounters between the two.
I like the idea of you doing the <German> with <English Translation> immediately following. But without the translation we would have no clue what you were saying and there would be no role play value to it.

Yeh that was me. I liked the Role play, but someone who doesnt speak english would have been a bit screwed.
Even gave you a Kudos for that. And Kusari Ship? wasnt that an IMG Ship?
And my character also tried speaking English, but i made him fail and said: I'll use the translator and started using german + translator. Hope the TAZ reads it i would like to know if it was confusing or not.
It would be much more roleplay to have language conflicts though.
