"Seeing as I have nothing better to do with my spare time, and considering the fact that I'm grounded from flying for a bit due to medical reasons. I was thinking if it was possible for the Her Majesty's Parliament to allow for the construction of a war memorial station to honor those who died on the front lines against the Kusari forces prior to the Gallic invasion of the Tau region.
I personally feel that this station would be a major morale boost to our men and women if we honor those who sacrificed themselves in the line of duty to protect this great house. As it shows that we're still going strong even through these dark times.
My original suggestion was to have the station built in Leeds, however due to the Gallic invasion, we can't afford to waste resources on the front lines only to have the memorial destroyed or occupied by Gallic forces, so after looking around on navigation charts I have lying around... I decided that these two locations in Cambridge were well out of harms way and easy to supply. File attached below.
I also have a couple of names for the station to throw out: Mountbatten War Memorial, Nelson Memorial Station, Nelles Memorial Station, Queen's Memorial Station, Regina War Memorial, <strike>Goodman War Memorial Station</strike>.
That last one was a joke..."

I must admit the idea itself is great and it would be indeed good way to honor those who gave their lifes for the Bretonia and the Queen. It will also have a morale effect on our people on the war-front. I will adress this topic to the goverment and War Cabinet - the decission will come to you shortly. As for the location - at this point I believe sector between the lanes and infornt the docking ring would be best. As for now we will discuss it and come back to you as soon as possible.
Your case has been discussed and we need following data to aprove the base:
1. Who will be administrating the station
2. Who will be funding this project
3. Who will mentain this instalation on daily basis
4. What will be the modules planned on the base
We find it both impossible and suspicious that a lone agent is capable of not only funding such a project but also mentaining it and adminitrating - if somehow you have the funds of such type - Bretonia will definitly use those for the war effort rather then for the memorial.
We find a statue somewhere on New London planet or Cambridge planet a better idea then a whole instalation that will consume a lot of resources. The Tau war is not over even if the Gallic invasion has changed the enemy - people still fight there for the sake of Bretonian citizen. We will discuss it futher after you send us the above requested data.
1.) I was hoping it would be a joint administration project for the Armed Forces, Police Authority and Intelligence services, as we've all suffered losses during the Kusari war.
2.) Bowex or BMM, which is why they received this transmission as well.
3.) Bowex or BMM ships.
4.) To be fair, I'm unfamiliar with stations modules, however a couple of defensive turrets around the station to provide security would be nice. If you're worried about modules such as Jump Drives, Cloaks, and... uh the third one, none of the would actually be necessary. It's a war memorial, not a secret testing facility.
Let me debunk any suspicions you have. I am not capable of funding, administrating, or maintaining the station on my own. I'm just a farm boy from Planet Cambridge who served in the Kusari-Bretonian war. This has absolutely no personal gain for me - politically, monetarily, or otherwise as I know how some people feel towards my person as a whole. The memorial was an idea that crossed my mind as a sentimental favor to those who've I have fought with, watched die, or haven't heard from during, prior, and after my service.
The reason I requested a war memorial in orbit of a planet is more or less a statement to those who pass through who are either ignorant of Bretonia's fallen, or are in a hurry and don't have the time of day to land planet-side and head to the memorial themselves. It's a statement to the other houses to show that even in the midst of an enemy apparently superior to ourselves, that we haven't given up, and we will continue to fight so that those who died wouldn't have died in vain, and for those who are still alive to know that there is hope.
I hope I've provided the necessary information, Commissioner."

To: Channel participants. From: DO Sir James Cromwell, Bowex. RE: Orbital war memorial.
Good day to you all, gentlemen. I am Borderworld Exports' Director of Operations - James Cromwell. The suggestion of a memorial station is certainly an interesting one that should be investigated carefully. Bowex's Colonial Authority division would certainly be capable of overseeing such an endeavour, alongside our BMM counterparts. We've a long and capable history of managing government assets as proxy administrators over the centuries.
That said, in order to make this project a reality, responsible fiscal planning would be required... primarily, a provision for a sufficiently interesting state contract in Bowex's name. Herein lies the crux of the matter: money. Our fair nation would have to allocate a substantial portion of funds to this structure, funds which could be better spent bolstering, say, the Norfolk Great Fleet and its patrols around... Sprague, perhaps?
This suggestion aside, it is far beyond my professional remit to comment on such matters. I would leave tactical planning to my military equals. I would echo the good Commissioner's query and wonder why we couldn't simply erect a monument outside the Royal Residence on New London - Lord alone knows, there's enough of them in the area already. There will be time enough for mourning when our House's troubles lay concluded. For now, there is the game of war to consider.
I like your initiative. I will make sure to bring up your project in the next Admiralty Board deliberations. There, we will discuss our involvement in this.
Contact me if you have any inquiries.
We should see each other sometime, old friend.

TO be completely honest, Liuetenant Goodman, the very idea of an entire space station devoted solely to a war memorial is, to be blunt, financially absurd, even were we at peace.
An installation of any kind among the stars is an expensive proposition, requiring prohibitive amounts of manpower to build one merely for sentiment's sake.
That, of course, does not mean one could not build a memorial on a station, but any such expense of the Crown's treasury or a private affair by concerned citizens or Bowex would almost certainly have to have as it's primary purpose an economic or mili'ry interest.
I would suggest, Liuetenant Goodman, than you go about finding a reason to build a station first, for the purpose of supporting those within Bretonia lucky enough to still be in possession of their lives; worry about remembering those since past after you have ensured their deaths have not been in vain. Tammo McIllheney, MP-Waterloo

"Who... the hell do you think you are? I, and many out there, have put my entire life on hold to protect people like you, and you have the guts to come here and say that I need to give you a better bloody reason because you don't want to spend your money? Really... who the hell do you think you are?
You aren't on the front seeing what we, the soldiers, the pilots of Her Majesty's Armed Forces see every day. You aren't the one having to make difficult decisions on the field that end up sending young men and women to their deaths. Our loved ones, our friends, our family members die each... and every day so that people like you can carry on living your peaceful, greedy existence.
Each loss we face on the field, damages morale within the Services. Each sortie lost that makes it on the news... damages morale for the entire house, and you want me to give you a better reason? You disgust me. You... honestly disgust me.
Do you know what I heard the other day when I was at the Prospect Mall on Cambridge? I heard that a small wing of exactly five Gallic fighters brought down a fleet consisting of five fighters, one bomber, one gunboat, two cruisers, and one of our own Dunkirks. Five fighters... took down ten vessels, I can't even tell you how many lives were reported lost that day. Hell... I'm demoralized because of that loss.
Forget your pathetic politics, forget your credits. This isn't about either of those. It's about remembering the men and women who died saving your sorry asses, that goes for everyone who has access to this channel.
But you're not going to listen to me either way, because you all still feel that I'm a traitor. You want a damn reason? Here's one. Get off your lazy asses and head down to the nearest refugee camp on either New London or Cambridge. Look at the fear in the eyes of the women and children... the families displaced by this war.
Do you know what they need? They need hope. They need to know their house and elected officials still care for them. They need to know that our men and women dying are not just numbers in tomorrows news.
Oh, and before you question my loyalties... check your own."

This case has been discussed and we have to decline your request. We find the construction of this instalation a waste of resources and as we know the people fight and fall on the northern front - I myself am patroling that space and fighting there too - Bretonia currently can't afford such a base with no military or economical purpose. Also the idea of building a base for a purpose of memorial only is not a good reason for spending so much funds and effort. Currently due to war , we need to share our resources carefully to maintain the front. Your idea of memorial itself is a good one - the base for it isn't. Let's honor those who died in Tau front when the peace comes.
