Well... took myself an inventory on what's still on my pre-beta to-do list.
- MBases (missions, rumors and baseside NPCs) entries for most Gallic systems as Xoria and his team get the rumors sorted out.
- Sorting out the equipment inventory for all those bases. Ugh...
Post beta, or pre if there's time:
- Ship icons. Shenkel prepped them, but they need to be uploaded, set up in the goods.ini file and tested. That testing is going to take forever.
- Unlawful drop points for the mining mod. Minor task, but it'll take a few hours to check which bases are appropriate.
- Still got some cleanup of now-unused model files to do. Low priority, but I detest bloated mods.
- No doubt the Beta will require many small fires to be put out...

Are we looking at a release date any time soon other then
"When it does"
"when its finished"
"I don't know"
"anytime soon"
"not any-time soon"
in the next year"
"we're busy right now"
*Ignore*
and I couldn't remember anymore of the top of my head, but you get the feel of it.
LIBERTY IS THE STRONGEST OF THEM ALL!!! oh wait, that's 4.84
Now you'll see. I'll predict the future. in 4.86 Gallia will launch a full scale attack on the houses! guess how I know.
If it'd been up to me we'd have been beta testing already. Can't give times since the folks it depends on haven't given an indication of readiness. But throw your complaints about the timeframe into a Flood topic that a mod can lock, will you? We've heard it a thousand times and it only serves to demotivate your developers. Which frankly, doesn't help speed things along.
Task of the day: Work on the equipment stores for various new bases. I got some two dozen squared away. Next step will be the Gallic ones. To speed things up I've created a few templates that'll make it just a slog of copy/paste (/delete the part that isn't needed) work. It's the only way I can think of to be able to complete those lists in the timeframe remaining, but might make the base inventories seem a bit repetative.

To be frank, for the Gallic bases we're not going to give much of a damn as long as we've got our class 8/9 guns, bats/bots, ammo, and a few other odds and ends like CDs, CMs and Mines.
Down edit: The intention here was to highlight that if we have the important bits of gear; we won't be concerned about the decorative items which see little to no use.
Right. And the GRN/Council capusers will appreciate CAU and capital weaponry available at some bases. And the trader factions will want CAU and transport guns. Freighter users will appreciate light turrets. Brigands will want some gunboat weaponry. It's not about giving a damn - the Gallic equipment is pretty limited as is in terms of what guns are available. It's that you -have- to define that inventory for -every- base or you won't have anything for sale there. Ammo and regens is a biggie in that respect, it needs to be defined for every base.
I'm tempted to program a small application to create the file from scratch, reading out the universe.ini to get the base list, and creating the inventories based on a few basic templates. That'd make it a lot easier to make modifications in bulk - IE add certain new types of ammo without having to manually paste it in for every base in existance. Which takes friggin' forever.

Update: Well, using templates certainly sped things up. Done with the Gallic core worlds, but I realised the various bases that change ownership from 4.85 to 4.86 will need to be redone as well. But that's not a critical issue anymore - will just make for a few... odd inventories at some bases. I'll chase em down if there's time. Now it's on to the MBases entries for the Gallic worlds. Pretty much all the bases have up to class 9 shields and class 9 weapons - for class 10 you'd either have to visit Monte Carlo freeport or one of the guard systems. This should suffice for all of Gallia easily. I've also assigned heavy equipment to the battleship in the Rousillion system so the folks behind the lines have a convenient place to pick up CAUs and the likes.

I would just like to thank doleo for his dev updates and keeping the players in the loop
And to all the other devs puttin in some hard graft! It will be worth the wait people so stop pestering them !
Eh, I still enjoy it. Else I wouldn't be doing it.
Small update: Finalized the miningmod config. I added some unlawful sale points for ore at 30% of the house value. Hopefully this will promote cargo piracy a bit. For Liberty: Rochester and Ouray, for Kusari: Kyoto and Kabukicho, for Rheinland Kreuzberg, for Bretonia Trafalgar base is used. Gallia has it's ore sale points all over the place, I picked an unlawful base in the system the sale point's in - they're all there except for Helium 3, which Gallia won't be using.
Also tweaked a few more oddities in the equipment inventories for bases. One of the IMG bases had a Corsair SNAC for sale. Some of the Languedoc bases that became GRN still had Council equipment. All sorted.

(Punch me in the face, if that was answered before)
Gallia uses spess fossil fuels, so Helium 3 is redundant. Their entire technological economy is geared towards non-H fuels, at the current stage of the storyline.
