That ID, with those ships and then open use? You know what that would unleash? I'd quit Disco immediatly. Just to preserve sanity.
If people have this attitude i say open it to all. Then the fools would all leave.
Back in 4.84 and earlier anyong could use nomad gear, and play nomad ships. It was fine. You got the odd lolwut, but you get that in every faction/ship. I myself am sick of groups like this. All those ships were open to all, then some high and mighty who was tight with the admins made themselves "the Nomad faction" and suddenly anyone who had a nomad ship/char had to get rid of it. It is total BS. This is why i refuse to RP with them, and a few others i have talked to also will just pew pew them with a gank fleet.
They want to be alone, and have no one else to play with? then let them go somewhere else. I refuse to RP with those who think they are somehow better then rest of server because they made a faction before others did. Because that is all they did. And now they think all Nomads should play the way they want them to.
Impress them? IMPRESS THIS!!!
Just sayin that there were reasons for people to complain about. This also serves as one of the examples how closed factions may bend their own declared regulations under which members are accepted.

But it wasn't 'closed'. By the end we had an open recruitment system... (that was arguably easier to go through than the Nomad one, too)
Guys the recruitment procedure is on the forums.. its there its not hard I mean really if I could get in you could. And I run the damn thing now. I certainly didn't impress anyone.
I spend most of my time helping others with nomad related rp, but I do help any of the morphs that ask it. The morph channel is still up and we don't give up on you getting in until you do. But that's where most my time goes. The rest of the guys? im sure its up to the dynamics of choosing not to play when you play.. either intentional or non intentional. Fi you dont see Khara on when you log in fix that and apply.
We have many who are interested, but for some reason they either give up or disappear due to RL. And from what im hearing the RL has been napping quite a few people across the board here. Not just us.
Also you dont just have to be a morph you can join THE ORACLES. And rp human and get your nommy lessons via roleplay. It might take longer but i try to bill it as a much more fun way to go.
As for the OP. you dont impress me by the accusations. but it wont stand in your way to getting in.
I dont know where you heard that from. The Wilde recruit who they wish when they wish and its their right as long as they fulfill their requirements. If you dont like it I dont know where you can complain and throw a fit where it will matter. Maybe repeal the one offical faction per ID rule? make a conept. recruit yourself a faction. do the work yourself?
I wish my faction to be more open.. but I am not going to give up on you like the previous recruitment procedure.. If you want to try and get the role-play correct.. you too can join the legion of the villainous blueberry aliens.
There isnt much more to that there. Not everyone in khara even get along either infact i have it on good account some outright loathe one another but they dont fight or get into it or bring the faction down with infighting.
' Wrote:They prove themselves useless due to the fact that they actually does not play their Boogyman role. Idling around or barely logging to keep the "status" even if you have such nice gear and ID is frankly pathetic.
Thank you for proving that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Here's a hint - we ain't the bogeymen because our ships and gear have been nerfed to hell!
Think I'm full of it?
My pride and joy - a Nomad Cruiser. 375,000 hit points, power 2.25 mil
My OTHER pride - a BHG Battlecruiser. 405,000 hit points, power 3.6 mil
Okay, so how about against, say, a Liberty Cruiser, with 295K hull and 1.4 mil power? Not bad, then - if it's only 1 on 1. When is it ever 1 on 1? (The Rhienland Cruiser is 390K hull and 2.25 mil power, too.)
The meanest Nomad laser does 10 points of hull damage more than the Liberty gun. Wow, that's scary, isn't it. Again, when is it ever 1 on 1? You want the Nomads to be bogeymen? Double the ships hit points, power capacity (and regen), and increase their weapons damage by 50%. That way when we get jumped by the usual 5 - 8 other ships, we might actually get to kill someone else first. (Our singularity cannon - the bomber heavy weapon - does the EXACT same damage as every other SNAC in the game.)
All the nomad ships are now is simply a re-skin of some other ships. It's only our RP that sets us apart - and that's a shame, because it's not much fun trying to RP as the big, scary aliens that want to eat your brains when you show up to play - and get destroyed before you get two or three lines of RP out because everyone goes, "Nomad, KILL IT!" ...

You know why most go " Nomad Kill it! " It is because alot, and I MEAN ALOT! of players are getting real sick of a select few having access to ships/gear/RP that rest of server does not have access to.
You know why it is always 5 on 1? It is because you are a closed faction with no indies to help out. For example do you think LN could stop the hordes of pirates that come into Liberty alone with no indies? NO! they would be 1 on 5 just like you guys. But alas there are always some indies around to help out. Do you think LN could stop the rhienland raids in Liberty alone without indies? NO! they would again be fighting 1 on 5 odds.
So whining your gear is equal to rest of the freaking server, and then bitching you get ganked 5 on1 when you want to be a closed faction, with no Indies? Well Boo fracking Hoo!
Now you claim it is easy to becaome a member. I looked at "how to become a nomad" but many do not want to cater to others, or bend over and do others RP. That is why Freelancer, and Pirate ships are seen more then most. Also look at any group/faction in game, and you will find the Indies for each far out numbers the Officials.
This is a game, and as such players want access to all, and everything in the game. Sure you may have to grind for stuff, but having some "elitest" or "vet" players saying you need to do "this" or "that" to use "OUR" gear and IDs is utter BS. This upsets people, so they take it out on these "special" players ingame by ganking them 5 on 1. Do not like it? Make the ID and ships open to all like SCRA did. As anyone in that faction will tell you. It did not ruin them. Now if you suddenly come back with "but we are special" " we have different RP" then you are proving my points above. See you in game. I will be one of the 5 ganking your 1 just because i can.
