I hear your name too much here, looks like you dont like zoners very much, so why don't we sit for a moment and think about it one more time, and please don't be cynical or sarcastic , I hate taking the piss , Cheers.
Done with the crap yet?
And FYI I don't hate zoners, I just don't think warmongers falsely calling themselves zoners fit the zoner roleplay. That's all.
Funny that you suggest not to be cynical or sarcastic after those lines you started that comment. Did you forget not to be hypocritical while being so mad?

So tell me, what's the sense in only allowing official TAGGED faction members to fly cap ships, discriminating against people who choose to play indy char on the server? What do you hope to gain from it, apart from piss people off?
If you want to talk about people not liking something, well the amount of moaning and crying I read on these forums about "indy" players, has lead me to be believe there is a very negative attitude towards them in general. I've even seen it on the server happen from official faction members at times. WTF does it matter if your an indy faction player, or one that carries a tag?

In other words, being an official grants you way less perks than the effort put into being official. Who deals with the NPC faction diplomacy? Indies? Lolno, officials. What does tech nerf changes require? InRp reason, mostly diplomacy, granted by efforts of Official factions put into RP. Who enjoys the new 75%->90% change? Everybody, even indies, without lifting a finger. That is one example.
Being an indie is way better, because you can basically have the stuff officials do have as well without having anybody ordering you around. Indies can get everything without having to be responsible for their actions, because when they do something stupid, nobody will call them out on that. Go, make an indie HMS cap and shoot down the RNS Eglantine during a meeting with Admiral Piett and Lelouch D'Aramis about a possible cooperation, who will stop you? BAF? Go, file a 4.7 on them for trying to order you to stop, which they can't do as it is non-canon for a BAF ID not to shoot a GRN ID. Go, file a 6.9 on them for shooting at you, BAF ID on BAF ID.
Go figure what my issue with indies is in general.
On topic: Nerf zoner caps so they will be able to only serve as their current lore suggest and nothing more, nothing capable to wage war like our current beloved zonerzonerzoner group does. That, or as been said before, make them SRP only so that only the ones will be allowed to fly them who are trusted enough to fly them as they are intended.

No wonder I preferred playing FreeLancer ID come the end on all my char before stopping playing on server a month ago. It's not just you with that type of attitude, but many others like you towards faction indies.

And who's fault is it?
Who's fault is this that while some of us put effort into maintaining an official faction, many do what? Powertrade, make new char, rep char, transfer cash and bamm, have the exact same gear as a faction leader. Today it is what's required to fly a battleship. No climbing up a ranking ladder, no following a structure of hierarchy (even despite there is an existing one by lore), no befriending and/or cooperating the others in said faction, no effort into RP, whether it be forum or in-game. Money. Easiest to get in the game. Get enough and you can be a Battleship Commander and an Admiral/Lord-Marshall/whatever-uber-high-rank of a Secondary fleet of your choice.
My opinion is that such little effort should not grant such a great reward.
Note: That applies to a majority but not to all of the indies. I know several groups to be a good example of how indies too should put more efforts into getting their stuff. I personally have no hard feelings towards them.
How do you think Indie players buy cap ships. We don't get the money given us for free, we still have to trade or mine, basically spending a lot of hours in-game earning cash to buy these ships - same as anybody else. But you seem to think, just because your part of an official faction. That we need your permission to fly them, lol

Well, you should have our permission.
You haven't given a valid reason as to why. People put a down-payment of 500 Million credits to get a SRP ID. Sometimes they're rejected.

I don't have the time to grind RP until I hit admiralhood in a faction.

You forgot to add /sarcasm, without it "grinding RP" sounds a little bit too serious.
However I'm quite interested in seeing what roleplay officials "grind" in order to get caps. And then compare it to indy way of getting caps. Counting differences could be quite fun.
EDIT: Damn, forgot /sarcasm

I'm not being sarcastic in the least, I'll have you know.

In that case I would ask you to elaborate what "grinding RP" exactly means, so i can count differences.
