I really don't see it like that. Back in the day Eta would be full of mission-grinding caps, but they only really participated in RP when there were big raids or Alpha defenses going down. Sure, strictly speaking it probably killed some activity, but I would argue that the activity lost is of no significant value as it was player-npc activity. On that note I'd much rather focus on conn: In old times there'd be Corsairs and Outcasts training in Gamma and Alpha, and quite often those training sessions evolved into raids (or being raided), and we've now lost that player-player activity to the convenience of Conn.
Back on point: I'd like to see high risk high yield cap missions. Put ALL Corsair and Outcast high profit capmissions in Eta, all RM and LN capmissions in Bering/Hudson and so on, so that players will not only have to deal with NPC's, but also the risk that a hostile player will show and wreck your day and steal your credit cards or pilots (yes, I had a short-lived career as a ninja looter/salvager in Eve Online and it was a lot of fun). That way the grinding becomes less predictable and more fun, and it might spawn some player-player activity too.

Big raids is still quite some activity.

You do have a point there.

Definitely. That's the next step for the whole mission thing. I suggested something similar idea a while back in order to increase interactions from different factions.
I remember Alpha and Gamma having like 15 population at all times. There were guys like Monty(dont know the forum name) in that OC Dread who helped newbies with missions advices and sort in Alpha. And I remember making a modest profit on my Strota only from missions. But the server isnt dead only because of this. This is just another factor that needs to be changed. I for one am totally with all of you on the opinion that missions should not only be buffed twice, but the credit cards should be added to the missions. the 1 million ones from BSs, the 100.000 from cruisers/destroyers and 10.000 from fighters. Also buff the prices on the pilots and nomad remains.
I will add one thing though. Caps were supposed to be a moneysink. Not a moneymaker.

I completely agree with this. I would gladly switch 50% of my money making game time for some missions in the Legate, even if it meant to make just half the amount I make on trading and mining, time-wise. The problem is, getting around 5-10% credits instead, even from 4.500m/5000m missions seems to be indeed a barrier to activity.
For the brief time I've been in disco, what seems to be happening to other people is pretty much what happens to me. Players wish they could get on their corsairs/outcasts and do some mission grinding instead of the regular trading/mining, but it just isn't worth it, except for a brief change of pace when there's few people online. You can't really log and RP either, because people are doing the same thing as you are, waiting for a raid or some kind of activity to log on their sairs/OC, otherwise there's almost no one to RP with.
That could be fixed by a number of other measures, of course, as proper organization faction-wise and recruitment and so on, but I still believe a little mission buff would help.
Considering the necessary credits amount for the ship, equipment and a proper CA, I believe it could be buffed a bit while still keeping the "money sink" tag, afterall.

Profit
This sounds like a cool idea. To get the money you'd have to move to your enemies homeworld and destroy some NPCs there, while either staying under the radar of players, which is not really possible I guess, or fighting them aswell. Would promote group activity and raids. The reward should be high, since doing this alone seems to be rather hard.

^ This could work too, Top option would be preferred but this as a secondary option is still good
