I have heard this around the community over recent months about RHA being a mining organisation with capital ships when Unioners are the ones that done all the engineering and shipyard stuff and only has a fighter and bomber as a faction shipline.
Good joke. Unioners/LWB/Bundschuh are all dead factions with inferior ZOI and tech, hence their dead status. Also pulling the "hurr durr you can't have this many capitals" card is so cliche as it has been done with the Rogues, the Outcasts, the Corsairs, the Zoners, the Order, hell even the Rheinland Military back in the LN/RM war. It's a game and there will never be a realistic amount of capitals as people are free to fly what they like.
Just go each a sandwich and accept the fact the Hessians managed to log enough people to do their base siege properly this time.
I was actaully asking a serious question so not need for the sarcastic reply thank you. But again in a roleplay perspective on a roleplay service. How can a mining organisation or former mining organisation have alot more capital ships than a faction that made ships. It doesn't make sense that is why I ask.
So please don't be rude or sarcastic with me. I am asking a serious question.
The problem with keeping these numbers inrp is that the numbers for a POB aren't inrp. And this is how it needs to be if you don't want a minimal amount of heavy armed vessels to blow a far away station up.
I will need to agree with the RHA here. Complaining about the IRP complications regarding whether or not an ID should have access to and how many capital ships in general they can muster is a mute point on our server. RHA, IMG, GMG, LR to name a few all had capital ships introduced mostly because the IDs they encounter have them. It was due to oorp balance reasons and is not reflected IRP.
Also what Skorak said. Base seges require huge amount of caps regardless.

Thank you Sindrom, see I never knew that I always thought it would be an inrp reason not an oorp reason to balance things up. Was curious as Unioners are a ship building company and RHA were miners. So was just thinking why RHA have caps and Unioners only have a fighter and bomber. That was all really. Then just wanted to know how inrp RHA had so many warships. But thank you for clearing things up for me.
I was not on about the Base Siege. Ofcourse it needs numbers it is near impossible to kill a Core 4 base with just a few battleships. I understand that. I understand why so many capital ships are/were needed.
But I don't remember actaully talking about the base siege ingame everyone just assumes for some unknown reason.
But again thank you for the answers it has helped me understand it was for a oorp balance reason.

Support, influence, resources.
The Hessians were supported by IMG (there should be some infocards on the IMG base in O-7) so they can cut the competition - DHC and Kruger. The Hessians are also a lot bigger movement than the Unioners and thus are more influential. They are also more liked than the Unioners, because they preach propaganda about revolution and helping the common Rheinlander.
Just accept the fact the Hessians were a bigger and more influential faction even in vanilla and due to their bigger ZOI they are more influential in Discovery as well.
Also like people below said - it's just how the game works, you need a lot of caps to counter other caps or to siege bases. Will the Unioners one day get some love? Who knows...
EDIT: I've personally been trying to bug the balance team to make the Arbeiter more worthwhile to fly as currently it's a bigger and slower Eagle. There was also a Unioner GB that was proposed and not sure if submitted but never got in either. But the Unioners actually have 100% on the Rheinland Unlawful Cruiser, so it's still something...

I know that there was/is a secret alliance between Red Hessians and IMG, I did not know that DHC and Kruger were involved with helping Hessians become bigger. But anyway thank you for all the answers it has helped me understand a bit better.
Ofcourse you need caps to counter other caps or siege bases but also bombers work too.
